Awsome !👍👍 great video and good to know, if I followed you correctly, could you use droop screws from an Arrma Limitless for pins and actually thread them through the plastic gear, they have an allen on one end allowing for no head of bolt or screw to deal with and also be removed and reused...🤔just a thought

You could for sure. Just need to be sure the length is correct and I would recommend some Loctite or Teflon tape as it’s amazing the forces in these that work things lose even with the threads.

Thanks again for your content. Question, is the end product the same width as the stock slipper so there is no play forward and back once the motor module is reassembled? Have you heard of this working on the "new" Vendetta slipper setup since your video came out?
@milehighspeedrc8412
@milehighspeedrc8412 2 жыл бұрын
The kimbrough spurs are a smidge thinner than the Arrma stock but that washer makes the difference so it comes out almost exactly the same width…everything else is the same other than you are really screwing it down tight compared to the standard. If there is a smidge of length difference (doesn’t seem to be but I guess it depends on the washer thickness you use) it will be very minimal and the spring in the center drive shaft will just make it up. Haven’t heard for sure if this works on the Vendetta. Seems like it should as the whole set up is arrmas stock set up for all these cars but I can’t say for 100% sure without owning one and trying it out myself. Let me know if you give it go.

I did exact same upgrade and I'm only getting 44 mph. Is the battery the difference? What battery you running if you don't mind me asking?

I run mostly spektrum packs cause I run a lot with my little girl and need to take some worry out of getting them back to storage level with her and I like their automated discharge. They are not the fastest or longest lasting to be sure, but that convenience is worth a lot. If I’m trying to get into the 90s or 100s I’ll use something different for serious speed runs. At any rate Something doesn’t sound right at all with your numbers. All the quoted speeds I gave were using just spektrum 3s 5000mh 50c packs. About as basic as it gets. Even standard out of the box gearing should beat 44mph with a pack like that. Are you using stock electronics? Hard to say what might be the issue without seeing everything first hand but first guesses might be: The assembly is slipping…maybe the pins are not catching one of the plates fully? Next: This gearing putts serious load on ur electronics and one outcome of that can often be esc low voltage shut down or clipping. If you slam the trigger this gearing will load the electronics and cause that clipping. Try slow steady trigger pulls to ease up to speed. This gearing requires LONG runways. Which leads to next possibility which is do you have enough room to get up to speeds? At this gearing it takes forever to fully get up there, in fact I seldom ever reach true top speed because space and radio range become the limitations.

@@milehighspeedrc8412 so I'm running with the spectrum 3300kv and 85amp esc firma. I have the .08 mod with 21t pinion. My top top speed was 51.3 mph but average of 44.8. My battery is a lectron 5200mah. I never bash trigger I always start on and easy into top rpm. My slipper is set just right from my knowledge I check the tension all the time. As far as my question with how often do tou check your pinion gear to gear meah/backlash. I was just asking cause I check mine after every run. Did not wanna seem over doing things lol. Not sure why I am not getting great speeds unless it's the battery. Tonight I ran it right after fresh recharge and it quit in me with red blinking light? Just annoyed. I love my 2 strokes cars!

@@mikea9521 the slipper setting no longer matters with a spool. You’re locking it out completely with the pins when you create a spool like this….or at least should be. The red light blinking on the esc and shutting down seems to be the give away. As noted, That’s probably your esc clipping due to this gearing over taxing your battery/esc. What spur count are you running? If it’s the 44t + 21t pinion that’s about half the final drive ratio of the 10.83 that it comes out of the box with. if the battery is not in good health or has a cell that’s a little shady this kind of gearing could easily strain it too much. This ratio would be about like a 28t pinion matched with the stock 57t spur so it’s getting up there. There is a reason they maxed the motor housing and mount at 26t with the standard spur. Not sure your goals for speed but just putting a 24t with the 57t standard spur put me in the mid 60s which would be significantly faster than where you are now and might be good enough for your needs.

Hi, I just saw your video. I have the vendetta and I wanna put a spool on it how much would you charge to make me one and ship it to NY?
@milehighspeedrc8412
@milehighspeedrc8412 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris. The vendetta has a slightly unique slipper to the rest of the 3s blx cars. I dont own a vendetta so I’ve not had my hands on it and dont know how it assembles exactly. Definitely seems to only have slipper plates on one side and different spur altogether which would change the build. The housing and motor mount and the rest all look the same and the vendetta is definitely based on the 3s platform so my guess is you could build one just like this using the slipper from the typhon/big rock etc… and it would drop into the power unit…but i dont know that for sure. You may check the arrma forum as someone on there will probably know. If so, you could pick up a typhon slipper from Jenny’s RC and just follow the video to build one. I’m not sure what it would take to modify the slipper in the vendetta and if it would fit into the module afterwards etc… so would be tough for me to feel comfortable building you one without owning the car and being able to test it and make sure everything works. Last thing I’d want to do is blow up your drive train or electronics because i built one in a vacuum without being able to test it and QC it in the actual car.

Nice runs AC Drone. I absolutely love your film crew!! That elecs package is very nice. TP and MMX is top of the line stuff and you’re getting great runs with them. 95mph 3s is really awesome and congrats on breaking the 100mph barrier. Got in touch with a bunch of folks on the Arrma forum who took these things well into the triple digits…130s and the plastic drive train held up so that question from my video was definitely answered. It can take a lot. Great stretch of road btw…that looks smooth as silk.

Yeah this guy is like the king of speed. He puts so much work and time into the cars and has lots of cool tricks. Makes his own caps I think too. I was chasing that number and came close but couldn’t get there, and to be honest my max speed was an outlier as most of my other top runs would be around 76mph with stock elecs. I wouldn’t ask him to reveal secretes but from my chase I’m guessing there is no way he got there without a custom spool similar to this…maybe a 1 mod version. Also, as my vid notes, stock electronics is about all that’s stock, to reach these speeds cars are heavily modified and tooled. Aero, ride height, diff fluids, weight, tires etc…all need tweaking. Hope this helps you get faster and be sure not burn out ur electronics!

@@milehighspeedrc8412 I bought the Typhon 3S. I put 47/100 Hoons which I need to balance and go over ever thing, I got some play in the wheels so I have to see what I can do with that, I managed to get a 30t pinion D-safe from Arrma install with some lash using aftermarket motor plate. I'm using a Radiolink RC6GS V2, hopefully I the car will respond to a gentle throttle curve but probably will amp out the ESC. I drove it very gentle last night everything sound right but still go to balance tires and ck the the play before I burn it up. Oh waiting for my GPS/ Analyzer thing. Should be interesting.

@@Starkster50 good luck with the runs. I stuffed a 36t pinion in with this spur but was just too much for the stock esc and it would clip every time. I settled on 32 as the best combo for me with this spur and stock elecs. When I changed esc and went with a 3670 motor the 34t became my go to. Car was in the mid 90s and very stable with consistent runs. Post something up for your runs. Cheers

@@milehighspeedrc8412 I hear you, my plan is with my RC6GS I can use a very conservative acceleration curve that I can program into it and hope that helps over that huge Amp draw , worse cause scenario I burn a motor $43 @ Jenny's RC toast the ESC $41 @ Jen's, if works well we'll see.
