The Vorteks is a great Stadium Truck for people new to the RC world of just for people who want to have fun with a new version of an old platform. What do you think about it?

I feel for 200 its not worth it up front cause the traxxas stampede 2wd and the ecx ruckus 2wd is a good start plus the ecx is 160 and the traxxas is normally 220 ,230. Now with the stampede I recommend a wheelie bar also. Now ecx ruckus likes to chew up spur gears time to time both can run 2s lipo

Plus the stock tires on arrma do nothing but spin i ended up putting my arrma big rock stock wheels on plus changing out pinion for an 18T plus added weights to rear . Its allot more alive but still the tmax i think is funner i even put slightly bigger wheels and tires on stampede with stock gearing and it jumps and flys plus not over heating.

I dont know im looking and i like this because its a good entry point but if i decide to go further i can upgrade more like 4wd and what not seems like a good way to either dabble in the rc world or dive in with out getting a whole new rig for 4x4​@@shawn6684

I've fitted the boost kit so it's 4x4 and the loss of power terrible. I recommend fitting brushless motor.

You probably forgot to swap the jumper from Nimh to Lipo when you swapped in the 2s lipo battery. That’s why I feel you got the same speed.

I didn't. The only thing that does is turn off the low voltage protection so you don't drain the battery.

I’m trying to get into rc as a teen. I’m not trying to make my parents go broke by trying to buy me a “toy”. I have been looking at cheap/ replica crawlers specifically the rgt brand but as a beginner I think a monster truck like this would be better. What do you think? What recommendation do you have? My budget is around 300.

Cheap are good but if and when they break parts will be harder to come by. Check Facebook marketplace for some used Traxxas stuff. If going with new I would suggest a 2wd Traxxas stampede or a slash. New they are under 250ish. Check with a local hobby shop too!

Good video. My only concern with these new boost line is the fact it will cost you more to convert it then if you just buy the 3s version that is available already. Did this over a year ago with the brushed mega typhon in a video and would just buy the 3s version.

Holy hell man, I don’t understand how people don’t realize the crowd that Arrma is going after with this line. it’s for those who might not have the money to drop on a 3S line vehicle and that are just getting into their first hobby grade RC. It’s not, for those like us that have 3/8S rigs already, of course, in the long run it’ll cost more to upgrade, but if you don’t have a lot of spare spending cash already, ultimately, that doesn’t really matter.

My Vorteks is a couple days old, the steering does not work, tried binding the remote with car but the led light does not stay lit after turning the remote on to bind the two together. Picked the perfect day for it to happen on Thanksgiving!

Call up horizon hobby they have great customer service. They will figure it out for you. Bummer it happened on the holiday though.

Any idea what it means if steering suddenly stops working? Remote still communicates throttle/reverse, just no steering. Thank you!

Sounds like a bad servo. Contact horizon hobby support they have a 1 year warranty on everything.

Have the model shop change to a deans or buy an adapter and a better cheaper charger spectrum are not cheap and it’s better to learn how to look after your batteries for yourself

tough call. rustler is a little faster and will wheelie it is also much east to upgrade the rustler too.

Well I couldn't tell you what the noise was. It could be a few different things. My advice is to take it to the hobby shop and ask their opinion. Unless you feel comfortable opening it up yourself to look.

I bought this truck for my youngest son and the stampede 2wd for my older son and the stampede walks this thing all day long . 2s 50c batteries in both . Very disappointing for right out the box unless u plain to do all the up grades to the arrma so its pointless up front i think . Lol

With this model arrma is aming for kids. After converting it to 4x4 brushless it will cost as same or even a little bit more than original brushless.

It is only a RWD beginner basher so I wouldn’t expect much. Unless you wanna spend more on a brushless BLX version or spend $250 for an already 4x4 built granite or Senton or just buy the 4x4 upgrade and install it yourself on the 4x2 Vorteks along with a new pinion and a (optional) spur gear too

the senton is lighter and smaller tires so its faster i bought both the senton and the vortex at the same time for me and the GF and her senton is faster tnen my vortex bu the vortex is heaver and biger tires

Makes sense. I did notice the senton really like to spin the tires where there other did not.
