Why would you shoot such a large diameter arrow? I'm seriously curious on the advantages, since I've only heard advantages to going to smaller diameters like 5.2 and 4.2mm I've even came across a 3.2mm arrow the other day. Wouldn't standard 6.2mm work better then 25 or 26 series arrows?

The larger diameter arrows are designed more for 3D and Indoor tournaments. The larger size helps competitor to hit the scoring rings. I would not used them for hunting. In fact, I hunt with x-impacts which are a 4mm diameter.

It would really be better if they limited the diameter of arrows. World archery limits you to 23 diameter or 9.3mm for 3D when you have multiple people shooting on the same target at the same time it might be time to limit the arrow diameter more. You really don’t need anything bigger than 5mm. World archery limits compound bows to 60 pounds peak weight I don’t know about the various 3D sanctioning bodies.

@@dwightbrown2808 it is just a different game. You can used whatever size arrow you want up to a 27 series. But they are restricted by a speed limit. It allows for different combinations of higher poundage and really heavy arrows to stay under the speed limit or a less poundage bow with a lighter arrow.

@ I used to shoot 2413 aluminum arrows for indoor but I always felt like it was sort of gaming a big. I’m old and I don’t shoot for anyone but me now. I just shoot skinny outdoor arrows for everything now. With a compound and release you can get almost anything to tune. I just stick to SuperDrive Micros or X10 parallel Pros. Bows have gotten so expensive that it’s nearly another 3K to set up a separate indoor bow.
