My only complaint was how Felicity reacted to the news that Oliver's a father she acted like he's been keeping this a secret for years when he just found out like a couple hours ago give him some time to process and he wanted confirmation before telling her but I agree that William's mother was kinda wrong telling Oliver to keep it a secret even from Felicity

Trying not to spoils various things coming not just this season but in other seasons and others shows in the arrowverse, so I'll try and talk in semi code. I always hated it, and as someone who fell in love with Felicity in the very first episode I saw, it felt like character assassination because she is being completely unreasonable. She broke up with him in the aborted timeline because barley an hour after he found out that he was a father and was still processing it for himself. The fact that he didn't tell her right away was considered to be the ultimate betrayal of trust? If Oliver didn't know that she broke up with him in the other timeline after his talk with Barry, he probably would have told her once it had sunk in for himself. Because he knows that when it comes to the big stuff she can be trusted and that she wouldn't push to get to meet him or contact his mom until the mom felt comfortable enough. But now he didn't tell her because he knows she will blow up once she finds out that he didn't tell her the moment he suspected he might have a kid. You could feel the writers wanted there to be conflict in their relationship so that they would lose the first fight but also didn't want it to be because Oliver still had trust issues, with this season moving more away from him being the kind of Batman secret keeper. So they went with the noble lie instead, the problem is that it's a lie that frankly at that point in time is not her business. Most people know when the kids come, it doesn't matter how much you love each other. Yourself and your significant other is always going to come second. She forgave him for all the things he did in season 3, not telling her he saw his ex with a kid that might be his at the coffeshop that same day should be the last thing she gets mad about. She doesn't even know about all the things he did during those 5 years. You would think him not sharing all of that with her would be a bigger deal breaker than a kid, considering how much Oliver got around when he was young, it's pure luck that he just had one kid. You know who says it best, and I refuse to believe that normally written Felicity is not the one to say it in this episode during the aborted timeline. She could have found out, on her own, and tell Oliver to not tell the mom she knows so that he can build a relationship with his son and bring her in when they are all ready. I understand that you couldn't do it that way since there wouldn't be any drama, but drama should always be logical to what a character would normally do and this was not it. Forgive the rant I'm in the hospital on a morphine drip and I started typing on the phone until it starts kicking in properly.

Fun fact: the actress who plays Kendra has an amazing singing voice. She’s on the original cast album for the Hunchback of Notre Dame on Broadway as Esmeralda and before the pandemic played Elsa in Frozen on Broadway 😍

Oliver just found out that day that he’s had a son who he hasn’t met and someway felicity finds a way to make it about her. The guy just found out and you expect him to go around telling everyone?

Felicity & Oliver are both my favourite characters individually & yes, I love them together as a couple. I think it is completely wrong to keep secrets, especially a child from your partner. BUT the writing here for Felicity really bothered me. Oliver asks for time to find out more information & promised to talk to her about it later. I respected that scene a lot because I felt like he wasn’t returning to old Oliver of keeping everything to himself. But then they have Felicity making nasty cracks about Oliver throughout the episode about him reverting back to hiding stuff drove me crazy. He just found out about William. He wasn’t keeping it a secret. He was processing & trying to find out the truth. And to have her break up with him was so extreme. I knew it was to create conflict in their relationship but it could have been done better. Don’t even get me started on Samatha’s ultimatum. Oliver never should have gone along with it. The writers literally made Felicity’s worries a reality in the new reality. He does keep it from her.

Felicity was so annoying this time like Oliver jsut found out! It’s been a full 24 hours & the mom told him not to say anything he has a right to keep it a secret & Felicity made a bigger deal out of it than necessary. & anytime Barry goes back in time I love it it’s wild everyone died

I agreed, Felicity is too demanding, too bossy, she wants everything perfect and on her way. She does not allow Oliver to even explain that he had just found out about he has a son. In a way, she manipulates people to do whatever she wants, whatever she thinks. I know she may not have bad intentions, but still she is too much. She would need to control her temper and personality, otherwise she may loose Oliver.

Felicity was wrong af. Oliver is right not to tell her. His mother said not to, so if he wants to maintain something with William he’s best off complying. Felicity is a pain in the ass for putting that on Oliver and not being more understanding to the situation

I agree 100% Oliver just found out that he has a kid and the only way he is allowed to be in the life life is if he doesn’t tell anyone so do not blame him one bit for not telling Felicity I absolutely hate the way she reacted that is completely unnecessary

Casper Crump was the best choice for Vandal Savage. He just has the perfect mix of sinister and creepy. This episode is definitely one of my favorites! Seeing Oliver get fried makes me emotional still.

He's perfect for the arrowverse version but if you're interested in seeing what Savage is supposed to be like you need to watch Young Justice.

@@dcworld4349 Considering this is episode 8 and he's 20 weeks ahead, I'd say you're about 18 weeks too late with this advice.
