.Wow, great marathon of nice finds my friend, very similar stems and bases. Here it is very difficult to find a drill like that. We have never dug, maybe one day it will be necessary when we no longer find on the surface in the desert. Greetings and blessings to my friend.

I'd try it, it's not as bad as I thought it would be, of course having some sandy soil doesn't hurt. Thanks and good luck out there 👍

Digging is slowly paying off for you John .When it cools off some it will get easier,those points look like they are in the plow zone if you go below that, wherever you determine that is you may hit paleo stuff.nice video John an congrats on some nice finds, I Iike those red points too but I rarely find any.
@thearrowheadreapers86682 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching 👍 that spot is a bit strange, some areas are shallow sand before you hit clay three feet over it could be fifteen inches, weird. Have been busy with work trying to get another video on before deer season. Thanks much appreciated for watching and commenting.
@williambrandondavis68972 жыл бұрын
Nice finds! Weird, almost all the same material, all the same style and found super shallow. Is that material local? Each site is different. Never know what you might find. I have been digging almost two years, about 1000 hours and I have only dug up three points in ratio to a 14 gallon tote full of flakes, tools, and cores.
@thearrowheadreapers86682 жыл бұрын
Thanks 👍 are material here is predominantly citronelle chert. Every site is different, I was surprised how shallow some of the points were also. I believe it's due to the fact that the timber in that area had been clear cut and that the ground is disturbed. I'm in a area right now that I'm finding flakes but not points to, I guess it just goes like that sometimes. Thanks again for watching and commenting. 😃

@thearrowheadreapers86682 жыл бұрын
Yeah we are fortunate to have sandy areas to dig. But you have to find them, usually next to a creek. Thanks and good luck out there my friend 👍
@stevewalker4638 Жыл бұрын
How do you know where to dig
@thearrowheadreapers8668 Жыл бұрын
Get on Google Earth, look for near by creeks and rivers. I generally look for farmland along them. Ask for permission ( that's the hard part) look for high ground along the creek or river. Preferably sandy soil look for flakes and chips of flint or chert. You want to look for an abundance of of them. That's a indication of a campsite. Good luck out there.
