I love how he keeps checking to see if it's working. And how sometimes he starts naturally soothing himself and then immediately snaps out of it like "Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be miserable!". Then he just goes right back to it. Lol What a little butt, and good actor.

Dopey has to be one of my favourite lil monkey's ive watched, and Reddy is a brilliant mother, she knows her babies so well she sees whats coming next and even whem she's teaching them like this she is still affectionate- you can be held or cuddled just NO MILK, its lovely to see 🥰🥰

People are forgetting this is a mom who lost her two previous babies, and is doing her best to make sure her third baby survives. Dopey is small for his age, tiny compared to many of the other babies, and he still hasn't experienced a fruiting season because he was born so late last year. So now that he's being weaned, as the fruits grow and ripen on the trees, hopefully he can close some of the growth and nutrition gap. I'm sure Reddy is listening to what her own body is telling her and using her motherly intuition, and ultimately she knows what's best for her baby. One thing I'm sure of is that she knows better than we do, with our paltry knowledge of their lives coming from 20, maybe 30 minutes of footage each week. That's 20 or 30 minutes of crystal clear, well-edited footage worked into a compelling narrative, and no other monkey channel even comes close to AM's production values, but it's still good to keep in mind there's a lot we don't know and don't see.

@@ArrozMarisco360 Hi Arroz. I know it's a WHOLE year later, but...I am trying to catch up with your videos (haven't been on here that long) bc they are ALL so well narrated. It is NOT the usual VO drama seen on other channels. I have enjoyed this particular episode with Mama Reddy AND MY lil guy Dopey...bc... Mama Reddy tries to distract Dopey with the grooming (while Dopey "act's" like HE's the injured party) and cuddling with him. When Mama Reddy carries him...mmm...7 feet away...she sits down with him...within her embrace...GASP...at ~ 11:49... Mama Reddy "TAPS" Dopey on his tush...double GASP...like a "human" mama would!!!! I am NOT humanizing these adorable monkeys...BUT...it is very VERY clear (I went back 4-5 times to RE-WATCH)...that Mama Reddy did indeed "TAP" him on his tush with her right hand. In Spanish there's an expression that mom's, aunts, granma use when calling a child's attention...by..."TAPPING", "andale muchacho usioso, sigale y te doy mas fuerte"...VERY typical expression in any language. Ok...with that being said, let me tell you again, that I've enjoyed your videos. Have a blessed day.

I find it difficult to understand why people dislike Dopey so much. He's not a brat and he certainly does not look "evil." For heaven's sake, he's still a baby! Some babies nurse until 2 yrs. of age and Dopey isn't even 1 at the time this was filmed. His behavior isn't strange at all. He's actually quite clever and persistent and has proven he's no coward..Those are three characteristics that will serve him well when he becomes old enough to form his own troop.
