Arrtx 72 Coloured Pencils Review & Demo

I received the 72 set and did not stop coloring for over 3 consecutive hours. 24 hours later, I ordered the bigger set...one for me and one for my adult daughter. I have polys and prismas and I would describe these as a cross between the two. LIke prismas, but not as "smeary". Yes, a great budget friendly beginner set!!!

Was going to get the 72 set. But watching all these reviews made me just go for the 126 set. I am absolutely happy with these pencils. They are nowhere near the 'legacy' of the Prismacolors, but they are a respectable hobby coloring pencil.

I'm actually amazed at how closely they got their names and shades to the PC. I've never seen that before in a budget pencil.

Great review and comparison to prismacolor. I didn't notice a similarity other than softness. Probably because I swatched them on black and white and they were more translucent that prismacolor. They also layered better than prisma in my opinion. The names are hard to read in silver on a glossy barrel so I never paid attention to the names lol. I can't believe how the names matched tho! Are those the colors in the 72 set? I liked these in any event. Very easy to use.

Thanks Lindsay, I've just watched your review and you demonstrated them brilliantly! I agree they layer better than Prismas. I'm SO impressed with the quality for the price point. Yes they are exactly the same colours as the Prisma 72. If they produced a 150 it would be amazing x

I love your review. I just bought these for my kids for the price it can't be beat. I hope they will be able to follow some prisma color alongs with these and they can always borrow a few prisma's to help with the colors that are not included in this set..

O.K. just turn them upside down, the end fits perfectly into the round slot. They do not move or flop around at all this way when you take a few out from the same area. Just be careful when you are pulling them out by the tip.

You need to lay the box down flat, so the points are not upwards, this stops any cores breaking if you accidently knock the box over.

These pencils are great. A couple of things I wish they iterated on: 1. Too many yellows, and many of them are very very similar. 2. That foam system would be much more comfortable if the holes were individual and not shared. 3. Option for 120 colors so they expanded on greens, browns and light purples.

Thank you for doing this review. I am NEW to pencils. I just won a set of these pencils from Arrtx. I am so excited but I have a lot to learn. Do you use Gamsol and blending stump or Blender pen? Trying to figure out what all I need to get.

After your review, if I understood you correctly, these may be the best smaller set of PrismaColor Premiere dupes yet? Automatic captions are always turned on for my videos. However I've noticed it can take KZbin a couple of days to generate them. I've filmed the first part of the Rita Berman colour along but it's just getting round to doing the rest x

I just got mind today a 120 set and I checked my holes and they were each individual for each pencil no rattle and no noise the pencils were tight ....I love them I do have a question though on the box it said to be stored horizontally why?....when they come in a beautiful display box thats easy to use ..thanks great videos

Oooh. That’s hard. I prefer the slightly softer laydown of the Arrtx, but there are better colours in the Arteza range.

How do they compare with the Chromaflow? Just got those because I loved your review so much. I love them lots but sometimes feel guilty coloring with them. Wondering if this is a good alternative for coloring book use.

Arrtx Colored Pencils 72 Good For Beginners in Coloring Books

I don't know why, maybe it's because I'm a big time fan of Prisma, but I'm super annoyed at how they matched up the names. I mean, there are some names used across all brands, but that's because the name comes from the pigment used (i.e. cadmium yellow), but when it comes to using those iconic names that just scream "i belong to Prisma!" it makes me mad hah. Great review though! Thank you for sharing!

I think the naming convention will help people who buy these because they are budget pencils participate in tutorials that use Prismacolor combinations. I chose the Brutfuner pastel set as my pastels and the names on the pencil was a major deciding factor. I would never buy the Holbein set because of the cost but I am very interested in color combinations.
