Whether you're a fan of Arsène Wenger or not, no one can doubt what he has done for Arsenal Football Club. Take a look back on Arsène's memorable journey through the good times and the bad. More is undoubtedly to come in what is likely to be Arsène's last years at the Club.
Arsène took over as manager during the 'Boring Boring Arsenal' days of the 90's. He revolutionised the players diets and training sessions and propelled Arsenal to the next level in English football. His first silverware came with a domestic ‘double’ in 1997/98, a feat matched in 2001/02. He then guided the team to a remarkable unbeaten league title - the only one achieved in the modern era - in 2003/04. In addition, there have been four more FA Cup wins during his reign and a Champions League final appearance in 2006.
He played a big part in the conception and design of the Emirates Stadium and the Training Ground at London Colney. Arsène has stamped his own brand of attacking football on the club, and is also renowned for developing young and unknown talent, bringing the best out of each player under his management.
After the infamous 9 year trophy drought, Arsenal won the FA Cup in back to back seasons between 2014 and 2015. Many agree that Arsène is now building a strong squad to challenge for the Premier League title. He has now surpassed 1,000 games in charge to become the longest serving manager in the clubs long history.

I'm not an arsene wenger fan. But the only one on that list that I would take above Arsene Wenger for Arsenal at this moment is Guardiola. Though Klopp might work as well. Mourinho would just ruin the club identity and he'd do it in record time. Simeone is also far more of a pragmatist whose team play more defensive and counter-attacked based football. In the long run (when Wenger calls it quits) Arsenal needs to find the right manager whom understands the club's identity and continues it (whilst keeping up with the modern game). If they (the board) get it(new manager) wrong it's Arsenal loss. Arsenal style and play and it's willingness to give young players a chance is a good thing imo. Especially since they remain a competitive side. (They did win 2 out of the last 3 FA cups). Arsenal (imo) do no have as a great a history as clubs such as Liverpool, Barcelona, Benfica, Munich, Aax... . However right now they do have an allure about them (through Wenger's work) but should Arenal lose their identity they will become just another good club. Basically like PSG, Chelsea, PSV, .. clubs like that. Good clubs with some history but not seen in the same category as some other clubs. Arsenal dedication to the beautiful game give the club a nudge. Obviously that still doesn't put them amidst the highest echelions of clubs. But it does put them higher than a club like PSG.

It actually disgusts me with the amount of abuse this man gets on a daily basis. Show some fucking respect. Some managers, when in Wenger's position, changing stadium and a lot of big names going would've also left. He stayed with us and although we haven't been very successful since moving. If you look at the money we've spent compared to United Liverpool City and Chelsea, they are incomparable. And to maintain that level of consistency of getting Champions League every year is some feat. He's stayed with us through some pretty rough times lets face it. But lets not forget he's had so many big clubs after him and he's turned them all down. He changed Arsenal. He changed the football we play, he changed our attitude, he brought in millions of new fans, he invented a revolutionary footballers diet and he MADE US ARSENAL. Without him, many people don't realise, we would literally be Tottenham. Play crap football, win the occasional trophy and that's it. But with Wenger we are a big club. I will never ever ever forget what this man did and gave to Arsenal football club and nor should you. This man is an absolute legend and the day he goes will be a sad day. Let me just end on a quote by Le Prof himself, when queried about when he retires and if he would stay around Arsenal he replied - "I'll buy a season ticket, come in my Arsenal scarf and be a fan" . This legend is Arsenal through and through and don't ever forget that!
