"Arms of America" has the polish beyrl magazines. I got 18 magazines , so I dont mind sharing the location of where to buy. I have the black circle 10, smoke circle 10, and the green byrel magazines. The beryl magazines are my favorite, and they are currently military issue in Poland!

Just picked one up to compliment my Bulgarian 74 from Atlantic Firearms. I picked up several mags a few months back [ 3 Polish Beryl, and 1 Circle 10 Black Waffle ] I picked up the Zenitco B10M and plan on picking up the railed dust cover as well. I just bought it now because I heard they ended production on it. I should have it in a few days.

You can get master mounts to mount a side optic. Robski has tested them over and over again and they do not lose zero. It's a side mount slot that replaces the pins used to hold in your trigger components

I just purchased this rifle for $1011 shipped through Cheaper Than Dirt. I saw production has stopped on these rifles (unless Arsenal brings them back again) so what is in the country is all we’re going to get. I have AK’s in 7.62 and 5.45 so I’m not going to risk having to pay SLR104 prices at a later date. Kvar is saying by mid summer they’ll all be gone! Get them while you can! If/when Russian 5.45 stops being imported, my 74s will become safe queens and this’ll take their place! Great review, here!

FirearmFreedom I’ve found out the 106 rifles, currently on the market, were mostly if not all, built in 2006. Production of the 106 was stopped in 2013 and the importer is selling off everything they’ve had, in the country, from over the last several years. Anyone who is on the fence about one shouldn’t think twice because they’ll all be gone by mid summer or sooner. Arsenal has not stopped manufacturing the black 30 round magazines because the Bulgarian military still use them in their milled receiver 556 rifles. It’s just difficult for the importer to get the magazines into the country.

Also another reason for the better finish on these rifles. Arsenal’s finish has become shitty over the past few years. Since these are all older production rifles, the finish is the old/nice Arsenal military finish.

FirearmFreedom Arsenal USA obviously went through the rifles and made the proper fixes because I haven’t seen any negative posts, about these 106’s, as long as they are used with with Circle 10 or Beryl Mags.

Outstanding video as always brother. I love the AK platform. My first serious rifle purchase was a post-ban MAK90 that started life as an underfolder but it came to me with a Choat Dragunov stock. I'd love to restore it to its original configuration, but finding a Chinese underfolder stock with all the hardware is challenging to say the least. Keep up the great work my friend.

I have AKT's in all my AK's. You might want to try the ALG recoil spring as well as their High Energy Main Spring to bring the let off up to 5lbs or so. I dislike really light triggers.

Congrats, that is a very nice rifle. Cheap mags are out there, you can use the Tapco 74 mags without modifications -------> just load 14-15 rounds per mag.

@@joshadams7542 If your setting up something to just go plinking with then you can't go wrong with either, the weight does feel more dispersed on the CR.i just cut and crowned my CR 2 days ago and it's pretty awsome! So let me give you a quick rundown of my story with this. So I have a Zastava M85 and I absolutely love it! My first AK style gun. Sadly I am part of the generation that has a hard on for AR-15 platforms. So after getting the Zastava M85 and I wanted to get a AK style rifle that was chambered in 223/556. So I was doing some research and I ran across the Arsenal SLR 106. So it was finally available on Buds Gunshop one day and I jumped on the opportunity to purchase this rifle. I couldn’t find any Circle mags so I desperately tried to get in touch with Canis to see about getting a magazine adapter. Research Canis and trying to get in touch with them has been a total disaster! People on blogs claiming they purchased items from them but never receive the items. So I went away from Canis and research Definitive Arms and they make a magazine adapter for this rifle but their website is down. I missed on great opportunity to purchase a used Zastava M90 from Buds Gunshop of course for around $600. So sadly if I can not find magazines for this particular rifle I might just throw it in the safe and let it collect dust. Likewise I am kind of disappointed that magazines are limited for this rifle. Right now which I should not be but I am in the market for a Zastava M90. I purchased so much stuff for my Arsenal SLR 106. Bayonet, Zhukov stock, Kreb safety lever, AKT trigger, and a set of Combloc handguards so I really hate to go away from this rifle only because of limited magazines. My sole purpose was to stockpile in M16 magazines to utilize in just about every rifle I own but that defeat the purpose with this Arsenal!

FirearmFreedom nothing to worry about anymore. Polish beryl mags work In these guns fine and can be found for 40-50 bucks. X tech tactical also announced that they will be releasing their 556 Ak mags this year. Rifle dynamics also just released their 556 nato Ak and are working on a magazine source. In America, 556 Ak is the future

The Bulgarian 20 Rounders are still out there. You should consider finding some of those. The FB Radom mags should work as well. I have a Russian Saiga in .223 and just recently picked up a M85 that takes AR mags and love it.

Also I run mostly polish archer mags and they work good in every 106 I've seen. They run about $30 and are durable enough. They have no steel reinforcements of any kind and honestly they should cost only $10 for what they are. But still cheaper than circle 10 mags.

My 106cr was an over gassed pos. Once I chopped the barrel it ran 100 percent. Now I love it. D0 not buy a 106cr and think you are going to run it out of the box. Even if yours does run ok it will beat itself apart and you could destroy it. They are way way over gassed because the port was made for the short barrel. Trust me you will destroy your rifle if you don't either chop the barrel to reduce gas or get a kns adjustable piston. Or play the back and fourth game with arsenal and may be they will eventually put a gas regulator in the block after sending it back 3 times telling you its fine. Anyway my 106cr is one of my softest smoothest shooting guns now after it had the barrel chopped. I run the cnc warrior extended 4 pc brake on it without the booster peice in it cuz it doesn't need it. Its pinned on to meet 16 inches but one day I might sbr it.

I actually had a round nose dive into the front of the barrel without feeding. It dumped a case of gunpowder into my chamber, receiver, and magazine. Bullet got pushed into the case. Using the promag. I just washed it out with a bottle of water and kept shooting lol

Most of these rifles were probably made in 2006. They are NOS. The one I just picked up from Atlantic Firearms was made in 2006. The fit and finish is excellent. I already put on the Zenitco B10M and B33 Railed Dust Cover. She runs like a champ.

I have heard that 545 mags work but you have to modify not the follower but the spring. I haven’t tried it yet but I will let you know when I do!

Try taking a spring out of a archer mag and putting it in a 74 mag. No matter what you do you can't get them to feed properly. The bodies are so similar the springs and followers interchange. But it's the feed lips on the mags that are different. 545 is a tapered round where 556 isn't. That's the issue. Maybe modify the top of the feed lips but I don't think there is anyway to get them to work reliably. Better off sticking with 556 mags imo.

The 106f and 106fr are very unrated guns. I have been seeing arsenal get them more often lately. The magazine affordability issue is definitely an issue. I wouldn’t hold my breath for magpul to jump into game there just aren’t enough guns on the market to make it worth their time. I think the solution is for arsenal to import more mags and stop playing the supply and demand game. I say this because kvar( Arsenal’s shell retail business)ran a sale on Black Friday for 106 mags at 37 or 36 dollars a piece. If they are so difficult to import, why run a sale have too many sitting around get my point. Kinda like the games they play with the 107. We are never getting these again, oh look we found some more but these are it, oh look we found some more, hilarious business practices. They never go out of business from lack of stock, they just magically find the next honey hole.

Nobody is gonna make cheap mags now that they are discontinued. I have a 106 cr and 106 f and i only have 6 mags betweem the two. Master mount works great on the f model but you need to get washers cuz the screws are just a hair too long. Also it requires crazy amounts of torq on the screws to get the rail to stay put. Dr grease the shit out of the screws and use plenty of blue thread lock. Also ammo that you should run in that gun is strictly under powered steel cased ammo. The brass stuff is just too hot and can wear on your gun really quick. You can run it once in a while though but steel is really best. These are actually not very accurate compared to the 74 in 5.45 3moa is average where my 74 is a 2 moa all day long. Also puff gun makes good mags for this for cheap but good luck finding them in stock. I need to find some russian dude to send me some lol.

Ultimak fucks with my harmonics on my particular gun. I have had zero issues running ultimaks on my 107cr and other 30 cal aks but for some reason on the full length 106 f it shoots terrible groups with it installed. I tried moving it around and everything. I gave up and got a master mount. Im not super impressed with that either. Using trigger pins to mount a scope seems dumb to me. I don't beat on my 106 f like i do my other guns so I guess it's fine. Gotta crank her down tight tho or it will move. Lots of thread lock as well.
