More often than not, Arsenal are reactive rather than proactive in the market. Players like Isak, Bruno G, and Kudus were all easily obtainable a few seasons ago. However, as usual, we're too slow, and despite the necessity, we're not spending any significant amount of money in January. This should have been addressed in the summer, and we were let down yet again.

On transfers, I know you’ll hate to hear it but I don’t think you NEED a striker as much as you need other positions. In an ideal world yes absolutely you need a striker, left sided attacker and a midfielder. 100%. But the one that (in my opinion) upgrades your side the most would be a left sided attacker. Havertz and Jesus are not proper strikers but I do think you’d get a LOT more out of them if you had 2 goal scoring wingers, kind of like what we did with Bobby alongside Mo and Mane. Maybe that’s less viable with Saka out long term though. But as someone that’s seen both our clubs refuse to put their hands in their pockets during January a hell of a lot more times than not I wouldn’t be holding my breath on anything being done. L4TL

LW is the biggest problem, especially with Saka out. Kai has been clutch and will continue to be, Trossard is not clutch anymore, Martinelli had one good season and Jesus only shows up for Christmas. Kai is our strongest attacker right now, that is the problem.

It's what we've got to do as fans, choose the top choices that would best impact Arsenal even if the club doesn't see it/ won't do it! Yes I was calling for striker Gyokeres in the summer, but something that Arsenal will more likely do, cheaper/not in the best form (I think Jordan/someone brought up the point Arsenal almost never get players who are on fire, they look to 'invest'), is look at Kolo Muani. For attacker/winger Kudus, Mbeumo, Madueke would set us up nicely, but club will look at Anthony or Rashford and think they've done the club a favour. Prove me wrong Arsenal.

LW - Proper winger to start, use Trossard as impact player off the bench and sell Martinelli (or loan if no good offers come incase he comes good again) ST - Proper striker that is clinical and Havertz can be back up (not ideal due to his wages but whatever) and sell Jesus RW - Proper back up to Saka, not a panic buy/loan like Sterling to shut up the fans AM - Odegaard is an 8 not a 10. Shift him to 8 with Merino/Zinchenko as his back up (never play Zinchenko in defence ever again) and have Nwaneri as the back up to the proper 10. DM - Partey and Jorginho contracts up in summer, bring in a proper player to challenge Rice and it gives us the versatility to push Rice to an 8 at times if we need to if we have injuries. LB - Tierney is leaving, Zinchenko is shit at defending, Calafiori is injury prone, Tomiyasu is always injured and needs to be sold, Timber is better off the right. RCB - Bring in proper back up to Gabriel, White is better as RB either to start or back up to Timber and Tomiyasu is always injured. GK - Back up to Raya or just put faith in Hein if he is ready. I count 8 players needed and all barring GK are a must so 7 needed best case scenario. This squad after 5 years still needs 8 players to sort the squad out which is a damning indictment to the job Arteta/Edu have done. It wasn't too long ago they were saying Arteta/Edu rarely missed with transfers but now it seems as if 75% of their transfers have been misses
