He's not really appreciated in England (perhaps rightfully so) and he could probably demand a decent salary and bang in the goals in the French league. Ronaldo is the best no. 9 in the world, by a long way. But Messi is the best player, he has now taken over the roles of Xavi and Iniesta while still being Messi. Ronaldo's great season is due a lot to Zidane and an incredible Real Madrid team (could be said Modric, Kroos and Ramos had better seasons than both Ronaldo and Messi), Barcelona were poor in comparison even though Messi was still top la liga goalscorer.

Heres how I see it, they're both unreal players, but Messi had Rakitic (who's alright), Busquets (who's ok I guess), Iniesta (who's getting older) and Andre Gomes (who I don't really rate), these players are nothing compared to Modric, Kroos and Casemiro though. Messi scored 56 goals this season with a poorer midfield, imagine how many he would of got with the Real Madrids midfield.
