Trossard works well when he plays in a 4-4-2 or any formation with two upfront like when he was at Brighton. I feel he is very restricted when he plays as a winger because he's not really the quickest. Usually when he starts as a winger, he rarely affects games but as a number 10, he is a nuisance to the opposition. He is not a predominantly creative 10 like Odegaard, he is predominantly a 10 that goal focused.

Calafiori is playing great ... and Gabiba is the DUO... having these 5 guys as starting 4 in almost any shape .. with backup of Tomi .. @@rgasta7765 Absolutely NOT true. Timber is a different player to White, and something became very obvious last night, but thankfully didn't cost us. Calafiori is a beast of a tackle master BUT.... he got done for pace by the winger on at least two occasions that I can remember, and for Arsenal that simply isn't acceptable. White very rarely gets beaten that way. Saka ended up dropping deep to cover for Calafiori, so he became neutralized up front. 'Timber left, White right' is a much more balanced arrangement, where Timber can drop into midfield the way Arteta wants, and the threat on the right remains.

I don't think people really understand how important Martinelli was, for that second goal. I saw this live just before the goal went in. If you watch the build-up as Arsenal were positioning themselves before the kick was taken, he runs to the group at the back and is clearly giving them instructions or telling them something. Then he runs into position as the nearest player to Saka. As the ball comes in, he chases towards it and apparently attempts to make contact. It looks as if he's trying to kick it into the South Stand. And his move is so bizarrely exagerated. Which leads me to one conclusion: he deliberately let the ball go under/past him. And from where Saka took the kick, that would be the perfect action, because if that ball goes past him, it will be instant mayhem with the keeper and any defenders completely unsighted until its too late. Which is what happened. It was the 'dummy to beat all dummies' and it was nothing short of brilliant. Arsenal have become true masters of the set piece. This is my favourite goal of the season so far, for that reason.
