Lets start by breaking down the name free-style it indicates that your style is not limited . If you were forced to spit "of the top of the head" then that is not FREE STYLE anymore since you would be limited not to spit anything you already have memorized . Freestyle is anything you decide to spit at the given beat or acapella spontaneously at the moment. Also freestyle where you are spitting a already memorized verse or reading bars off your phone is even harder to spit on beats then the "off the top" and your flow has to be a lot sharper . Second thing if you were actually a rapper or somebody that really understood what he was talking about here, you would understand that it's a lot harder to sit down write a decent verse ( with punches and wordplay) than to sit and rap about random bullshit just chasing the rhyme.
