I think Margaret would have preferred to be 100% herself than "1/2 if not 3/4 of" her husband's work! Talk is cheap. Marriage either to a fellow artist or non-artist is usually deadening to a woman's spirit. I can think of exceptions but mostly, we get to decorate our husband's work or give it up. She stopped working. She suffered ill health. She died. Her sister's husband destroyed her sister's work after she died. Can you think ofany woman who destroyed her husband's work after he died? I can't either.
