Greetings Philip, Oliver and little whippet! Here in Seattle my wife and I are working from home and our son was sent home when the university closed. It's a little cold for gardening on our modest deck, but the starters love the rain that blows in. At the outdoor garden store they have a sign: 'if you are here to shop or here for therapy, you are welcome to stay as long as you wish.' Thank you for opening your home as well, it's very comforting to see you all.

The sun is setting over Freshwater with a beautiful glow and magnificent colours. Its been a great day on the beach where we are permitted to walk and surf as long as we don't gather together and stay too long. Thank you. JohnQ Freshwater Beach NSW Australia.

I have just found your videos and am loving them. The paintings are one glory but your enthusiasm in seeking out the provenance and solving the mysteries takes all to another level. I grew up in The Cotswolds but emigrated to Canada almost 50 years ago.Seeing your home, the feeling of the air, the sounds of the birds and smells of the farms come back to me with a visceral memory.. Hi from a Geordie now living in the US. So far, I have drunk morning coffee to an episode, eaten lunch to another, perched my screen on my lap as I knit, pull out, and re-knit a never-to be-finished Fair Isle jumper, and today, held my screen carefully above the bubbles as I warm up in the bath. I think this demonstrates how much I love these mini episodes, how joyful they are, and how much light art in many forms, and those that enthuse over it, can bring in gloomy times. Thank you 😊

"The Wiggs," the hippest band in Cambridge of the 18th century. It's their version of the Beatles. If they could have recorded, that painting would have been the album cover. The painting of the people in the field with the nuclear plant reminds me of a Palestinian artist, but I can't remember his name.

Very interesting painting, that music gathering. It might be some of the very first steps of a minimalistic, "primitive" expression of faces, which goes ahead to the late 19th and 20th century's expressionism. Love your series, and as an educated artist myself I never stop learning and being inspired. Thanks!

I got such a surprise seeing your little program Episode 6 as I scanned KZbin. My first thought was “oh Phillip from Art Detectives, a new art show, I’ve missed earlier episodes, I’ve got to watch. Why hadn’t I seen this show”. Then I realised the title of your little show ‘Art In Isolation’ and the penny dropped COVID 19. What a wonderful break away from the constant news about this devastating pandemic. I’m so saddened by the number of ill people in Britain and high number of deaths as well as other countries around our world, terrible. I & my mate live in South Oz 🇦🇺 renting these past 20 years on a working farm 700 acres sheep & cropping wheat & barley about 30 kms from nearest town, the neighbouring farm is about 2 kms away. We named our rustic home ‘Arcadia’ definition - a region or scene of simple pleasure and quiet’ it was built around 1898 (and shows 😀) with old stone sheds not as glorious as your beautiful barn though. 😂 The Australian government’s restrictions on movement with isolation as much as possible has recently been enforced. For us it certainly is not an imposition, a choice made many years ago. We both feel more blessed at this current time with myself lucky to have approval from my employer to continue working from home, my mate 74 yrs retired but enjoys driving around neighbouring farms checking out who’s started seeding their crops, moving sheep from one paddock to another with it being autumn here. A trip to the shops is now 1 trip every fortnight. Australia has relatively low death rates from COVID 19, albeit any are so sad for the victim, their family & their community. Winter is coming so we are being more vigilant. It was a surprise to hear you mention Australia in Episode 6 I did smile ☺️ great to get a mention. But, I digressed, please allow me to thank you for your wonderful interesting show which has brightened my evening and I will go back and watch your other episodes & look forward to future ones Phillip. Be well, sincerely Carolyn Lambert

Hello! I must say, I so enjoy watching Art in Isolation. That episode about the musical ensemble in your barn really got me wishing to hear them play. You must know someone rich enough to put up the money to commission the composition of a piece of music for those instruments. Then it could be performed with your painting present on stage. Or it could be presented as a tv programme of some sort. Mind you, not a pastiche with wigs and stuff, maybe not even with period instruments, but their contemporary incarnations. New music inspired by your old painting. I could see a percussionist, two violinists, an oboist, a flutist (I think), a trumpeter and someone with an instrument I could not recognise. I see potential. And I can already hear music! Keep broadcasting! Håkan Jacobsson Malmö, Sweden
