This is my first art journal page that I've done on my handmade art journal book (link below). This is the short version, there will be a longer version with even more details (and I'll add the link here when available).
I've created this inspired by the Art 'n Soul Studio October Challenge which is called Tree of Life. For me the Tree of Life can be any tree, which is alive itself and it's also home to other things can live around it, in this case, mushrooms and snails. This is one of the most incredibly beautiful pages I've seen! I love your attention to detail, and how you used foam backing to make the tree dimensional. I can't afford enough stamps, templates, powders, and materials in general... but there is the imagination creativity power to help me!!! 🤟 The result is great and look so fun to do! The inspiration is great! 👍

Thanks so much! I use all these products because I have them, but you can always start from basics, just a couple of paints, print images you want or hand draw them, colour with mediums you already have (like coloured pencils perhaps?) and go for it! You just need to have fun and get a bit messy. Happy crafting!! :)

I am just beginning my junk journal journey and am determined to use what I have and improvise. We can make amazing things without buying much at all. I made some great dyes and stains using food coloring and Easter egg dyes, and old coffee and tea and messy walnuts. I have so few stamps, so am looking for a way to make those, too.

The dollar tree, free printables online, old magazine & book pages, crayola art supplies, random tags, cards, & whatever else looks nice to you. These are all some of the ways I’ve found items to journal with. It can be intimidating watching videos like this but we cannot compare ourselves everyone is in a different place. 🤗

The medieval monks would do something like this to books. Because paper was expensive they would paint over the pages and write over them. Kinda an early day white - out. 🙂

I know... I can only say that these (PaperArtsy stamps) are super high quality, high detail, that will last forever, will not harden nor break and they can stand very high temperatures (you can even stamp in melted embossing powder or melted soldering tin). I keep mine as precious and luxury items, but I make them work hard. They are hand made in the UK by PaperArtsy and I have the honour of being one of the guest designers for the brand, so these are my babies, my love for these is biased as you can tell... :) And on top of that I'm a stamp collector (or maybe a stamp hoarder) so probably my comment won't help a lot...
