I know I'm two years late...but I COMPLETELY agree--so much crap that get millions of hits, or journals that are just comprised of stickers! Your journal just made me heart soar like the birds off the pages of your journal. Just starting to learn how to illustrate birds--what great inspiration!

i love the paintings in this journal. you are soooo talented. when you decide to start painting on your page, do you choose your background colors first and then decide which bird would look best with the background colors or do you choose the bird first and co-ordinate the background colors? they are so beautifully done. thankyou for sharing.

Thank you, Jack, I am so happy you like my work! And yes, as you probably have seen now if you have seen a couple of my videos is that I do both. Sometimes I just play with backgrounds and then choose something that fits whatever I created, and sometimes when I know what bird I want to paint I co-coordinate the background to suit the bird and the mood I want to achieve. Most often it is a little bit of both approaches, and I find that my best work comes when I do not overthink what I am doing.
