This was such a great video for me to watch. I’m new to journaling and I run out of ideas. Also the napkin tips were very helpful for me.. I need to get one of those little blow dryers. The water color looks so great on it. The pages look great.

Loved that you kept it super simple. I always get sooo overwhelmed when trying to art journal. Maybe I need to try & start off with more simple stuff.

I am new to the idea of art journalling. Is the journal simply the pages of the journal decorated ( like you do for the full deck challenge) or are they then used as a base for other things like photos or other things you want to remember?
@ShanoukiArt Жыл бұрын
Hi Kimberly, welcome to art journaling 🤗💖 to answer your question, it can be both. Just decorating the pages as a creative outlet or you can use it for photos or like a scrapbook 🤩💕

Hi! I love watching your videos. I’m just starting out and nothing ever turns out for me. When I try to spread gesso around the edges of the napkins with my finger, it never looks as smooth as yours. I don’t get a smooth edge because the napkin is so rough. I put down a layer of white liquid gesso to prime the page and put the napkins down with matte medium once the gesso dries. It seems like Mod Podge never dries for me but I might try it again. I would appreciate any feedback you can give me. I might not be doing anything right. I also can’t afford expensive products. I think I may be using everything all wrong. Thank you!
@ShanoukiArt2 ай бұрын
Are you using just the top layer of the napkin? Is your gesso regular not heavy gesso? Apply less gesso at a time and apply multiple Layers but dry between each application 🩷 (hard to tell how to correct without actually seeing it 😞)
@christinehermann49292 ай бұрын
@@ShanoukiArtthank you for taking the time to reply. I just have liquid gesso, maybe I need something heavier. I think I did forget to to the back layers off of one of the napkins. Lol. I’ll keep watching and learning. Thank you!

What is that white product you used to blend the edges? It sounds like you called it "Just So," but I tried to search for that and have had no luck.
