hi amanda :) youtube recommended me your channel, and uh boy I'M IN LOVE i've filled up 8 journals until now, with diary entries over the past 3 years, sometimes i draw, sometimes i write song lyrics that resonate with me at the time... but i really wanted to try to start some sort of art journal -- because i've been so commited with writing, but not so much with art (it's silly but i though that if i'm not an artist i don't have any art to create, i guess so many years as an young adult taught me to prioritize being functional instead of creative... sad, i know) but i'm binge watching your videos and i love your flip through the best, they give me an idea of what i can try to create i don't know, i though that by letting this comment here you would read and know that are people watching and enjoying what you create

So nice seeing how much your style is evolving and growing! Love to see how much you're able to just let go and have fun...and it looks great! It's so expressive! I do wonder tho... do you ever feel stuck with this specific format of sketchbook you've chosen for yourself a while ago? Do you ever get bored of it and want to change it up? Like try a bigger one or a better quality paper one or something like that? Just wondering because I sometimes get bored of a sketchbook before I even finish it hehehe but you've been able to keep going and do so many of this one format... which I find impressive!

hey! i do get bored easily too, so i usually have multiple journals going at a time. I have a bigger journal for my daily entries (A5) , and i sometimes also use bristol paper if i want to try a some bigger works. a lot of why i keep the smaller cheaper journals is affordability for me :(( but i hope to try to make some of my art on really big canvases... one day! but yes i combat boredom by just having a lot of projects going at the same time... if i'm tired of something i just toss it and go to something else, i'll return to it eventually lol

Oooh i just got a himi gouache set! Any favorite spreads you've done with them?

i really like to use my himi set to make paintings that blend together. the vibrant colours really mix well and make some cool spreads. i keep the paint really wet and let the colours just flow together, super easy and intuitive!
