Art journalling inspired by dreams! Hello beautiful souls, I am sharing my Art journaling process for this week's video with a journal spread I created after making last week's video, where I was sharing a recurring dream I used to have as a child. Let's journal together and chat about dreams, dreaming and how working with our dreams can help us process emotional 'stuff,' and experiences to support our mental health and well-being. Yes, for me, that is what journaling is all about! As well as having lots of creative playtime and loads of fun too! Who's with me!!??
Thanks so much for watching and all the lovely comments and connections.
Sweet Dreams! And, see you next week.
Love & big soft virtual hugs, Wendy Xx

Dreams are of great interest to me. I think that there is something to them because i experienced the same reoccurring dream of my Husband Passing the way that He did, for several months before His unexpected Passing. The dreams depicted exactly how He Passed. I don't know if it was our souls talking to eachother or what, but now I pay close attention to my dreams. I also record them in my journal and try to work out what my mind, soul and the Universe is trying to tell me. Sometimes if I'm lucky, I even get a visit or two from my Honey 💖 I'm really enjoying your videos, Wendy. Thank you kindly for being open about your creative healing journey. It's an inspiration for me as i traverse my own healing process 💜✨🕯️

For so long, I took my dreams at face value. Then I met a mage friend who taught me about digging deeper for the hidden messages, and that began my journaling to document the dreams so I could have a record of them from which to do the research, and somewhere to put that, as well as my thoughts and vibes on them. Nothing about them is ever unimportant. Bright blessings.

Another lovely video! Thanks sooo much for doing this, such an inspiration. Regarding dreams I absolutely would recommend a book by Irvin D. Yalom who is an incredible psychiatrist and also a talented writer. In his book, Love's Executioner and Other Tales of Psychotherapy (absolutely fab, my fav by him) he writes about dreams and 'The Dreamer' who is our subconscious self, 'the doer' of us. He gives some examples who we try to solve our problems, fears etc while dreaming.

I use to get sleep paralysis. OMG!! I can not begin to tell you how bad it was. It got so bad that I had to sleep with a small lamp on. It was my way of knowing what was real and what was a dream. I always had a real sense of being awake with something pushing down so that I couldn’t move and was unable to breath. I would try to scream but nothing was coming out. A feeling of being to scared but not being able to wake up like you do in a nightmare. I only found out what it was called a few years ago. I always felt like I was the only one having this ‘thing’ and then to find out it has an actual name, that others were having it. I always thought it was just a nightmare, but it’s not. I had nightmares as a kid, the falling nightmare, and to me sleep paralysis was worse. I haven’t had it for a few years now. It just stopped like it began, suddenly.

I've had sleep paralysis too. It's horrible and you end up being frightened to go sleep. It gets far worse if I'm under a lot of stress. Hence, one of the reasons I've ended up following the wonderful Unexpected Gypsy. So soothing to my soul 🥰

Sharing a cuppa. Thank you for reminding me about morning light. Sometimes the dreams I have are bizarre, and it's not obvious why my subconscious is using such mysterious symbolism. It can take a while to figure out the message from my inner self, but it is usually worth the time and effort. While i don't keep a separate dream journal, I do write down my dreams in my regular journal, to be able to review, and note any recurring dreams, or themes within them. One doesn't always know if one's muse is trying to leave messages, either, so it's often helpful to check one's dreams. Your videos always inspire me, and give me tons of ideas to explore (my dreams, feelings, and the things I see in my neighbourhood). I love that both your art and your words touch the way we feel, the dreams, visions and magic. Wishing you softness, gentleness, and quiet joy as you explore. Love and light from the antipodes (in Australia)

Oh Wendy! I am so delighted to be here with you. I spend my Sunday afternoons sipping coffee, tea, wine and gathering my ephemera, thoughts, and getting inspiration from you. You're better for anxiety than prozac. You bring a lovely sense of reality and truth to life. My favorite thing is how you enjoy your work and your art. It's the contentment with your pieces being lovely, just the way they are... giving me the reality and permission to be okay with it all and to stop trying for 'perfect' ... As in perfect space, perfectly clean, perfectly unreal!! it's nice to let that go and just let the beauty of my journal be what it is... an expression of me!

One person developed amazing art skills after his injury, he is pursuing an art career! Personally I want to journal with art to keep in a joyful and grateful place ! Blessed and safe days!🦋

mod podge tip :) I have a designated brush for it and then to get all the sticky out I use "Goo Gone" it smells like oranges. works great but it is expensive kinda so you don't need much and designate one brush so if you don't get it ALL out its kinda OK. I love your channel so much, i'm so happy I found it. Your art reminds me of mine kind of, just "sunnier" if that makes sense lol thanks for the great videos. Love from Nashville, TN

I adore Your vlogs so much , and really loved the intro ..so divine . I find a great trick for Dream recall is to write straight away into a note pad next to bed because as soon as my feet touch the ground, and I come fully back into the "real world" I forget them . It is good to write as much as I remember , even snippets , how I feel on waking ie mood , people, places etc... write the date , stage of Moon (Full dark or crescent ) . The more I do this the more I start to remember. I will also leave some space for possible meanings or for later on keeping track if it comes true . The idea of putting it into a lovely Journal really appeals to me as well , thanks so much ..on the hunt for black Gesso now xx Blessings Grizi xx PS If I have an issue and need advice I will ask My Dream Self to send a message and take note of my Dream , sometime wake with a sentence in my Mind or a song Lyric which holds the answer xx I had to giggle .. I have noticed over the last year that if I am dreaming of going to the toilet ..I have to wake myself up and go to the toilet x

I have many dreams every night sometimes they morph into other dreams sometimes I wake and go back to sleep. I wake up remembering most of them and I even remember a lot of them later or days or years after. I can have really wild dreams too i'm not sure if this is all down to my sleep apnea. I have many flying dreams the flying is always like doing a jump and then sometimes I can fly further then others sometimes I struggle to do it, some of them I am running from people and the jumps are so small that I am just managing to get onto buildings and get away from them. Some of the flying dreams I am flying far across peaceful and beautiful countryside. I have had a recurring flying dream where I am a vampire and I am glad I can fly but after i sit in a tree and watch the people through the window that I cannot connect with and I am sad. In one of my weirdest dreams I am a big pink blob called kirby (it is from an old nintendo game) and I can feel my body being this huge round blob and I am bouncing around and off the buildings.

I participated in an online survey about how my dreams (and nightmares) have changed during the pandemic. Definitely having more nightmares (or at least more that I am remembering) over the past year. How very true about forgetting them though - unless I have discussed them with hubby the next morning, what was so vivid on waking, seems to fade so quickly. I have never journaled anything ever but find your book really fascinating. Thanks for another lovely visit Wendy!
