I just start doing my first ever art journal.. I always wanted to do art journal but never tried before because i was scared of. If I will able to do this or not 🚫 so I just started and along the way I am feeling I am not on right track or this is not I wanted or sometimes I let my mind free and let it do what it has. I don't know now... Need little guidance! I haven't find what kind of genre is suitable for me! I do know I don't have much art supplies , can't afford to buy it. facebook.com/artjournalbyzara Can you please see and give some guidance

Hi I’ve been watching your clips for about a month now and I love them. Your approach to art is so whimsical and fun. I love it. I’ve just started setting up my bullet journal and have become overwhelmed with how I’m going to fit everything in. I am now just going to use another journal. Thank you so much for the idea that you can use more than one at a time and you don’t have to fill them all. Can’t wait to see what your next project is.

You have made realize I am a journalist. I have many unfinished journals but felt guilty that they are just sitting. Some I have thrown away.😢 Now I know that it’s alright to pick up and add to work. I am an active 87 years old and am inspired to jump in again. You have really gave me emotional strength to work on many journals. 😊Thank you. Dottie

Oh, my! I have different journals for different things. At the moment, I have 2 dragabouts (6x8.5ish), a 9x12 sketchbook, a bullet journal, and various bits and bobs of paper that I tend to stick in everywhere with little notes and doodles on it. Oh, and I have a wee little 2x2 zig zag (hahnemule) that I'm doing a special project in. Also a perpetual wc journal I occasionally pull out. I have a Happy Planner this year because we are planning to get new work and move back to our home state, at the moment, it's virtually empty. Anyway... Love your vids! Don't be afraid to show old things.... it reminds you of how far you've come, where you were and where you're heading. Have a great week!

it's so affirming to know of someone else who loves loves loves journals and uses different ones for different things! I was beginning to think I had a problem! I tend to start journals and don't always get very far in the particular category, then I'll just grab that journal and do something else completely. I'll tear out the pages and put them in another, etc etc. I need to go through my Journals, pick out some favorites and settle in. I love to know that you have unfinished ones that you have had for ages. this video is very healing for me!

I have so many different journals for all different things. sketch books and sketch journals, art journals, altered book journals, lots for planning various things and taking notes, I also like having different sketch books for different things like one for practicing poses, one for textures. Like you they take me a long time to fill and a lot of them only have a few pages done. I want to do a video like this one day where I show everyone what I use them for. I also prefer the softer books and a5 is my favourite size. I make a lot of my journals myself that is also very fun, my sketch journals are made with various pages like tea dyed paper, recycled paper bags and packing paper they are very fun and inspiring to work in :). using happy mail from friends in journals is also inspiring and uplifting too.

I think I can recognize myself in what you call " a multiple journal kind of girl" and yes that would be ideal to just have one or two journals BUT through the years I learned and accepted that this is just an utopia for me unreachable unrealizable although as you said it makes me also overwhelmed and I urgently need to declutter my studio which got out of hand by the years and no I will not put this on my goals for the new year , too much pressure . I love notebooks with thin paper to work on even with paint even if they are not meant to be but I love how the paper turns out wrinkled and I love the sound it makes when you turn the pages but I also love the Global Art Materials hand.book, thicker paper off white, I use different sketchbook brands and sizes and it is lovely to find out what each one has to offer , it triggers the exploring and creativity . Some I use for journaling, some for collages some for 'esthetic" paintings or academic Fine Art drawings some for messing around , it all depends in what mood I am and I always have a kind of "portable desk" (these are just one or two shopping bags who 'travel' with me between my art studio and my house even it is just from the back of my garden to my house but I can't leave them behind , you never know hahahaha . Loved to hear you talking about yours as it is nice to find like minded people .

I'm also a multiple journal kind of girl! I have a lightweight paperback, bound lined journal that I use mostly as a planner but sometimes other stuff creeps in, a little random collage. I have a larger, hardbound journal for deep, reflective writing, though lately I haven't felt motivated to use it as much. I have a bendy, fat, exploding art journal, by WritersBlok I think, that I used in an art therapy group and which continues to have collages and scribbles and a few dreadful paintings reflecting my emotional state at various times. I have a small red hardbound book someone gave me once that I use only for visioning, that is, ideas for projects, how I want to change my work, basically my vision for the life I am trying to create and what's supposed to be in it. It's funny in a way to have so many different places for journaling--plus I do some blogging, which can be like another journal. But somehow it makes sense to me, and different journals pull on me at different times, so I guess it works. It makes me think of Doris Lessing's novel The Golden Notebook; do you know it? I read it maybe thirty years ago, so I could be remembering it wrong but I think the main character wrote about different parts of her life in different journals until she eventually brought all the pieces together in the golden notebook. For her that represented a kind of integration. However, she was a writer, not a painter or artist, so she didn't have that issue of lines vs. no lines, paper that can take water, etc. At any rate, I enjoyed this video, as I do all your videos, and the glimpse into your thinking and processes. Thank you so much for sharing.

Multiple books here. - Bullet journal style work journal - planner to keep track of our activities - writing journals for various subjects (camping trips, relationship work, random projects) I have been very drawn to some high quality notebooks recently, but I couldn't figure out why (other than just to have, which was a fine reason when I was young and didn't value savings and uncluttered space as much). As I considered art journaling, I have come to remember how much I enjoy creating and realize that I rarely make things simply for me. So, I will start art journaling too. Gathering ideas and materials, evaluating what materials I already have... Etc. Thank you for being here to share your process with us!

Just found your channel! Love your style! I have a B6 TN that I usually put a Tomoe River insert in and I journal and draw and paint in that but I recently worked in an A6 moleskin type and i loved that. It took paint much better than Tomeo river. But how can I resist writing on a Tomoe River page, and the sound of them turning! I also have a huge collaging journal that I made from Fabrianio Artistico paper after watching some tutorials from Teesha Moore. And some travel junk journals from last year's trip to New york. Oh and a glue book, and some passport size for when I go out with my small handbag. I've got to the stage where I can't leave the house without my journal. Im excited to watch your video on how to refresh your drawing skills - I'm not very good at drawing yet. X

I have three journals but I only use one medium so I think that it’s easier for me to keep things minimal because of that. I’m a watercolor illustrator and a journaler. So I have a journal that I write in and plan on. This is an a5 hobonichi. Then I have my illustrated journal were I write and draw my life. Then I have a stillman and birn journal I use to teach my online classes or work out illustrations that I turn into stickers.

I came across this video early this morning as the sun was rising and felt inspired to let KZbin do its thing and it played 4 in a row. I too am a bit of a gypsy. I use the moleskine sketchbooks almost exclusively. If I sample other papers they usually get added to my moleskine with matte medium or washi or stitches, usually by hand but an occasional spin on the sewing machine is fun also. I hope to see more of these treasures soon. Stay well and don’t let all the work part get you down. It is more important to feed the creative side then to let yourself get bogged down in the minuscule aspects of running a business. Everything gets done one way or another. I find packaging the items for posting is most satisfying at the end of the day when my creative fire begins to smolder. I also find the packaging easier to do when I create on the envelopes or boxes. A little drawing or phrase of endearment is fun to do to help speed that process up. Best of luck to you,,,

I bullet journal in a Pierre Cardin bendi journal and this is the second time I am purchasing the same one. Mainly since it is the only dot journal I could find locally and I don't like to order online since the shipping almost doubles the price, but I also like to see and feel the paper I am buying, if you know what I mean. I started an art journal recently, and it is a hard cover one. The paper is nice but I also don't like the hardcover. Anyway I take both with me to work and back every day. I cant function without my bullet journal a single day, all is organised and scheduled in it. And I love to do reflections in the art journal, and to sketch ideas on my lunch break. I only eat once a day due to a prediabetes healing protocol, so I need something to fill my break hour and to distract me from thinking of food.

I love altered books always wanted to do one. This upcoming year I plan on incorporating more collage into my planner/ journaling. I love notebooks and sketchbook but I’m trying to limited them to one of each so I don’t end up with a large amount of half filled books and also reduce the amount of things I’m bring into my space. As a beginner at drawing, to get over the fear of messing up a pristine white page I got out a big fat notebook full of scribbled minutes of meetings from my former working life, and on top of the illegible notes I draw balls, ellipses, shapes, nasty ugly birds :))) mad weird cartoons or whatever... with a big old black flair felt pen and absolutely no regrets

I like doing a Bullet Journal with everything in that book. I have hit a bump in the road and took a step back in my BUJO's. I also started a 10 year journal and it is very structured but it's a place to write about this decade which started with the virus and i am making entires about what life is like in lock down. New to your channel and loving the videos i have picked to watch they are speaking to me. I am all about art, crystals, Tarot cards and spitritual things which helps me in my persuit of art.

I have my Morning Pages journal and my Goals and Gratitude Journal to help me focus on what I want to achieve and remind myself of the little things to be thankful for. I also have 2 art sketch books which I use for water colours and doodles but I really want to create a more multi-media approach to my journaling. I find your art journals beautiful and inspiring!! x

Sarah Slaughter yay! Multiple journal girl, like me! So many journals, so many choices! 👏👏 I’ve never kept morning pages consistently although I love the idea of them I always start and then somehow it falls away... 🌷🌷🌷

Hi Wendy. I've been art journaling/memory keeping in a traveler's notebook. I love the size and portability of these little books. I even make them for my grandchildren, where I snag pictures off of facebook. Thanks for sharing this video. I really love your content!

I have a journal obsession. And most have different types of papers. I like the Carson and Stonehenge mixed media journals. I also have watercolor journals, journals for pastels, charcoal, pen and ink. It's a terrible habit and the majority of them are untouched. However, my favorite journal is a hardcover Academia variety, that I've had for so long, that the cover had to be re-taped to the spine🤣😂🤣. It's maybe a quarter full (100 pgs) with drawings and my writing. I would take it with me everywhere. It's been well loved. I have been wanting to create an art journal for a long time, but didn't know how to get started. So thank you for sharing your tips and ideas. You are an inspiration. 💜💯

I have always been a blank paper girl, usually A5 size but no preference as to hardback or soft. I am not keen on spiral bound books. I have been bought one from Paperchase so I will give it a go. In the past I have always been more of a writer/diary style with the odd drawing & lots of colour. No I have found you I am going to try Art Journaling. I have been collaging and I absolutely love it.

A really cool channel. I made my own journals! I practically enjoy more doing them than filling them

After watching your last video I wanted to get a new sketchbook for art journalling. But then I decided to make one using an old hardback book from a second hand shop I work in (to save it being thrown out). It might be a while before I do anything else with it but it's a start!

Emma Neary 👏👏👏yay! You made a start. Perfect, I am so happy to hear. Next gather all your things together... second step xx I keep an art journaling bag or basket handy with my tiniest art kit in so it’s always there if I want to dip in. Even if only for five minutes... good luck. 😊

It’s good to know that you use lots of different books and have different categories and dibble and dabble in them over a long period of time! I have felt like I was spreading myself too thin and not “finishing” anything 😂 but I feel assured now that it’s okay 👌 to jump from book to book! Love your work, you are so inspiring to me right now!

Hello, thank you for posting your videos. I love watching them. Very creative and inspirational. We have been watching them together with my art class students that have an online school, as they also try to create their first Art journaling pages. :)

I do gratitude logs, so am always buying journals, notebooks etc. to fill up with all the grats. I find it endearing how you like the bendy journals! I do too for some reason! I'm very picky when I go to get a new book to fill - I'm always looking for those bendy ones! I'm excited now to start art journaling because of your inspiration. I've had my eye on a journal for a long time with the vintage parchment pages with the burnt edges. I just didn't know what to put in it - now I do! Thank you, so much! You are quite lovely! You offer the world such wonderful energy to be who we are and be patient with ourselves! Thank you!

I loved this, gave me lots of inspiration and seeing your journals makes me want to get creative even though it’s 1am! I just have 1 journal and 1 sketchbook (as well as a planner) that I like to not give myself too many boundaries in, I like to write or draw whatever comes to mind without any judgement otherwise I find myself never picking them up. I also like to use a sketchbook with cheap paper in so that I don’t feel to precious about what I’m creating which works well with my art style, quite quick and loose and expressive. However also have books with better quality paper when I want to use inks or water colours. Thankyou for inspiring me to keep a journal!

Hello from Maryland, USA. I just found you last week and I'm enjoying the videos. I've been using planners for a couple of years but with marginal success. I tend to give up half way through the year. I got a new planner from The Dragontree Co that I'm going to try for 2021. Also for 2021 I'm going to start a Reading Journal to track the books I read and an Art Journal. I do quilting and card making and you've inspired me to start an Art Journal.
