How to make Breathtaking ART with MATHS!
In this Art tutorial you will learn how to create amazing patterns and designs using X - Y Axis and positive and negative numbers. You will be able to teach this art method to your class to support their understanding of graphs, x - y axis and pattern making.
This super simple technique is a fantastic way to show that by following simple rules you can create something complex and extraordinary and beautiful. The process takes very little planning and can be made using very little resources. All you will need is a ruler and a pencil. Once your class has understood the simple "parabolic curve" by plotting their lines along an x - y axis you will be able to step back and watch as they grow and develop their design into an incredible pattern.

Teach ruler skills
Help develop accuracy
Help develop an understanding of XY axis
Develop independent learning
Create fantastic display opportunities
Provide a link between Art and Maths

I was just remembering an activity like this that I did as a kid, and was trying to remember how to set it up, so this is great : ) The way we did it was with cardboard and a needle and string to connect the points, which is more work but came out really cool. Thanks for this! As a kid, I just thought it was a neat trick, but as an adult I definitely see the math connections.

Cool video but the camera angle you used @ 1:17 to @ 1:40 made you look super creepy so I wouldn't recommend doing a closeup shot like that again lol. Especially with the slow head tilt from side to side.
