Keith Code is a living legend. When i started to ride motorbikes (actually, i'm a surfer stuck in a place with no surf), i watched every video i could find, and figured out pretty quickly - for me, Keith Code was the voice i wanted to listen to most. And listening saved my life, flying into a corner, on a mountain road outside of Hanoi, way way too hot - i calmed down, recalled the lessons of Twist of the Wrist and other vid's of his - and the bike sailed around the corner like it was on rails. I was stoked - and not smashed in the rocky valley below. Instinct may get you going, but it takes technique and practice to get good at something.

I've done three levels of California Superbike School, and hand on my heart in all honesty, it's the best training anyone can get on the planet. If your serious about learning the art of cornering, you need to do their training.

Senetor17 or just ride in CO through the many different turns and elevation increases or decreases many times eventually getting better and learning the true art of cornering.

True. That' was awesome. Nicely explained. I literally relived those moments of 'Awakening of Senses' virtually, seeing those motorbikes cornering ! :)

Why on Earth aren't there schools like this one in every state? I would sign up immediately.
@URBANENGINEER8 жыл бұрын
They drive the bikes all over the USA. CSS was in Alabama Memorial Day Weekend (Barber Motorsports Park). They typically only go to "world class" tracks.

There are in a lot of states. The MSF course is a good start. Take their courses and build up to this .

The small sense of 'getting it right' with each corner is like a dog getting a treat for doing what they are asked to do... (-; And it is 'addictive' to "get it right" over and over... I am NOT "a Racer" and never intend to be one... I just LOVE to ride! Whether 'cruising' on open country highways (gliding smoothly like a ballet), or 'working' the twisty mountain roads (like a running back, cutting and turning and reacting instantly)...or even the Challenges of an occasional Track Day... Getting the curves and corners right makes the whole ride glorious! SURE, I LOVE the Straight Line acceleration and speed, and the sounds of the engine as it flexes its muscles! But the curves are the hot fudge on top of the ice cream...

It's an ad. It wasn't supposed to teach you anything. Read/watch Twist of the Wrist II and you'll learn something. Better yet, take the class.
@Senetor178 жыл бұрын
This video isn't here to teach you how to do it. It's here to entice you to enrol in CSS. I did and I can highly recommend their training and instruction. I'll be back for level 4 soon.

For those who ride the track regularly or semi-regularly, I was wondering if you can critique my body position. A good friend of mine recorded a cool mini video of me riding over here in Massachusetts in an area with a couple of VERY nice corners. It's my most recently uploaded video on my channel. Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

Looks like your basic form is good. The video doesn't really show how well you're choosing your line into the curves so no comment on that is possible. If you want to improve past the point you're at, a school would be a way to leap forward since the teachers can spot stuff you can't spot yourself. I live on the Mae Hong Son/ Pai loop in Thailand, although I have 1800 curves close to the house, riding only teaches a limited amount. Regardz!

TIP: If you are entering a right corner/bend, turn the steering to the right -- and don't lean over to the left -- also, don't be texting your friends halfway round the corner or eating a doughnut.
@jamesbrininger62878 жыл бұрын
Yes, if your not aware of COUNTER STEERING, then your not riding with control.

I think you would want to brake to the outside. find the bend into the apex and not to fast that you miss the exit on the other side of road, cause once your in the dirt ...
