It's quite amazing how modern man is so distracted by or own abstractions. I'm not an expert tracker by any means, but I can do it and spend a lot of time in nature observing it and learning from it and it does come naturally in the same way as recognising useful plants and fungi and also knowing when those things will be available just by smelling the air. Personally I choose to live outside because you're actually aware of the world around you all of the time rather than retreating indoors to supposed "comfort" it's actually not as comfortable as you believe and ultimately damaging.
