I stared at this for 5 minutes to finally realize it was yoga poses, so I didn't have any time left to figure out the movies in under 5 minutes. Wyna likes her Yoga, Rap music , slang words, alcoholic drinks, James Bond movies among other things. Again, Connections also deals with CRYSTALIZED intelligence which is your exposure/personal experience to things in life. Oranje, for example, has watched the Disney/Pixar movies with his kids and he personally likes Yoga. It sounds as if Oranje, Chris Remo, and others in this site have been exposed to an EXTENSIVE amount of things in life. Perhaps I will get to that point if I live to be 100 years old. 😂

Wordle in 4 BISON ALTER DETER METER Connections: Just didn't get the order. I remembered the Yoga poses from Strands that gave away Blue, and I grew up with animated Disney movies, but still didn't see it till I had those 4 words left. 9/10 Strands: Purrfect score! Sorry, I had to do it.

COCONUT TREE and BRAT made me happy. An UPDO is just a hairstyle, so it was a nice red herring along with BUN for a minute. I remembered the yoga poses, but didn’t manage to figure out the Pixar movies, even though it was obvious in hindsight.

An updo is a woman's hairstyle where the hair is swept up from the face and neck and is secured to the top or back of the head. For example, a high bun or a French twist. Often worn for formal occasions.

I continue to appreciate the added knowledge given to us from you, Dora. This is what I like about these games. My mom has told me that these brain type exercises in doing these games can help others in not getting Alzheimer's Disease. You need to keep your brain active all the time and also do the physical exercises like walking/going to the gym keeping yourself busy. 😊

Any one else getting fed up with the wordlists on Spelling Bee? Yesterday they allowed unground which I didn't get but disallowed my gundog. Whit? Who knew rota wasn't a word in the USA? They disallowed nulling last week which is in all the UK dictionaries.

Yes, I sometimes find their word choices irritating too. "Unground" may be a legitimate word, but who has ever actually said that?

They frustrate me often with what they include and exclude. So many obscure birds, noodles, and made-up words. Today all the puzzles I did left me “meh” except for Strands, which was fun. I managed to survive Connections through sheer luck.

@@dora.7873 Hi Dora. Don't forget that "ground" has multiple meanings, so which meaning you are thinking of could drastically affect how much sense "unground" makes to you. For example you could electrically "ground" something, and while removing the grounding, a person could say, "I'm going to "unground" it." But if we think of "ground" as the past tense of grind, I think "unground" makes considerably more sense. I think it's pretty common to refer to whole peppercorns as "unground pepper". I have Queen Bee'd every day for an entire year. I get GABM every single day before doing Connections. I'm only telling you this to demonstrate that if you ever want to talk about Spelling Bee, I'm your guy.

Wordle in 4: CIVIL DREAM MOPER METER Connections had two mistakes: Both involved mixing purple and green together. Color was YELLOW BLUE GREEN PURPLE; I definitely did not get the category name for Purple though I did for the other two (the yoga was a guess that moutain and warrior might be pose names lolz)

I start everyday with STARE and today I went back and forth in my head between TIMER and METER for my second guess. Sadly I went with TIMER and ended up with a 3. Aaaaarrrrghhh!!!! lol. Oh well.

That's what I thought too. After all, Art's channel is called "Rise to the Equation." And it appears that, before Art started making word game videos, most of his content was math related.

PRIMO MATER METER -Would've gotten my 2nd Eagle in three days, but at the last second I switched out METER for MATER for my 2nd guess to double the number of vowels tested. Hit the same brick wall as you with Connections, but despite having no clue as to half of the categories I still managed to solve it with just one wrong guess, I grouped "Mountain, Tree, Warrior, Soulmate" together just because they seemed vaguely mythic and/or mystical together, got a "one away" and dumped my Soulmate for a Chair because it somehow just seemed to be the next best fit, and it was. Hey, the game records it as a win.

Something that didn't make sense to me in today's Connections: The green category was titled "BRATWURST G0-WITHS." But BRAT was also one of the clues. And since BRAT is short for BRATWURST, they seem to be saying that bratwurst goes with itself!

I believe I am more proficient at "droit civil" than "civil engineering" -- whkich may explain why the word METER, especially with the American spelling, is more familiar to you ! Anyways, CIVIL POUND STARE METER

I do not do Yoga or watch the Disney/Pixar movies. I was fine in Wordle/Strands. I personally feel that the normal very intelligent person will OCCASIONALLY fail in these games. It is IMPOSSIBLE to know ALL your topics. You and Doug fit that category, Art. This is how it is in the real world and I know some very bright friends/acquaintances liking these NYT games. In regards to the 6 Letter Wordle Words, I was very happy getting the word, "flying " in three tries: POSTER, PIMPLY, FLYING.

I find BOTH Wordle games easier than Connections. My sister, Pam, and her husband like doing jigsaw puzzles/1,000 pieces which I have no patience for at all! 😂 Again, the WORD HURDLE/ 6 letters is done TWICE a day.

My mind wasn't in it today and I made several mistakes, re-using a letter in a position it had already been tested, then forgetting one of the letters completely. Lucky to finish in 5 after all that. @@hopechazz Well, I'm not sure what I did constitutes "landscaping". 🙂I just put a small (about 4' circle) garden around our lamppost with about 18 Angelonia plants. The plants bloomed for a while. They are not currently blooming, but the plants seem healthy. I'm afraid they don't get enough sun. I didn't realize when I chose them how much shade was caused in that area by a big tree. I probably should have chosen different plants. The plants are still pretty even when they are not blooming.

RIOT: 4410. 9/10 Time: I gave up on Purple after 10 min. I then finished cleaning up the kitchen. When I came back to the puzzle, I saw the Purple category in about 2 or 3 minutes. Approx 15 minutes total. DIFFICULTY, as reported by NYT testers: 3/5 I love the Pixar category. Very creative to see that WALLET has WALL-e in it. I had the first 3 categories picked out, before 5 mins, but I couldn’t see those Pixar movies until I left it and came back to it. (I noticed later that the movie is called WALL-E, with the capital E, but I'll leave my error in, in the interests of honesty.) I got a 9. I will therefore laugh myself to sleep with joy in my heart. M'kay?

My troubles started after I left uni to go into industry, but looking back the first ten years were bad -- sometimes you are thrown into things you simply haven't the knowledge to handle. Chris Remo surprisingly struggled today and he could have failed Connections if he wasn't familiar with the Disney/Pixar movies. Oranje continues to be in "a league of his own" with these NYT games, Dora. Comparing Oranje to one going to the OLYMPICS was an interesting/perfect analogy given by you regarding his skills. 😊
