I don't get it why so many people are obessed about the unrolled edges. I used a lot of these tins and none has caused any issues at all. 🤔 Ultramarine finest exists because back then granulation was a bug, not a feature as today. I remember Schmincke boasting about it...(In the Eighties) And I still like the option of a less granulating ultramarine. Cause I don't buy sets often I would prefer the ultimate mixing as complementary set. And it's a better looking box...😁 (Imho) Thx for the vid and journey on.

Unrolled edges are sharper and it feels unfinished. Its is really trendy to have granulating colors Schmincke really went for granulation in the last few years, they were (and still are) known for having smooth delicate watercolors! Its great that Schmincke has both versions. Thank you for watching! 😄

I mean... you have to admit the unrolled edge looks cheap, no? It's all about cutting cost, that's why it's so irritating to people. You *could* certainly cut yourself on that edge, and it does make the tin less rigid. I agree it hasn't caused any actual problems for me, but I still think it looks substandard, and unbecoming of a premium brand like Schmincke. Otherwise I like these squarish tins, I'd go for the ultimate one too. Or maybe the Gris one, but I do like that ribbed bare metal.

This 😊 Adults should manage just fine with palettes that don’t have rolled edges. What are we, small toddlers that are too inexperienced to deal with a small challenge like that. Ultramarine finest is one of my favourites. There is more than enough granulating ultramarine out there, so the non granulating version is a very welcome option.

I've been dying to get their white tin palette but I don't like the color selection at all 😅😅 ooh I thought the silvrr and gold powder don't stay on unless you use some medium with them! They look so shiny 😍

Oh no! I love the colors 😂 Maybe Schmincke will come out with a different colorpalette? Like the Ultimate mixing set palette comes in with different watercolor combinations. The silver and gold powder contains dextrin-glue-binder, so they are smudge proof but not waterproof (if the water to pigment ratio is 1:1)

@@filsartjourney oooh I didn't know that about the ultimate mixing palette! I browse art stores a lot and check out watercolor sets a lot I can't believe I missed that 😅😅😅

@@E4Alabbasy Yes they had the schmincke seascape set and schmincke botanical set in the same aluminum palette as the ultimate mixing set! I hope they do the same for this one.
