I'm glad you mentioned the spontaneous trembling. That came up for me at another occasion when I was simply investigating how I could support a bent leg with minimal muscular effort, trying to let the bones or skeleton do the work.
@deborahbowes54024 жыл бұрын
Yes, this trembling response is very common. It can be a sign that you could rest and maybe change the position of your legs for a bit. Over time and with practice, it can be less of an issue.
@micaelat37342 жыл бұрын
@@deborahbowes5402 Thank you for your response. At the time the trembling felt It was as if a muscle or a muscle group that had been in contraction for decades released. It was profound. For an instant I had voluntary control (to contract and then let go). Then I lost that again. I couldn't identify it. This lesson somehow brought some of that release back in a more gentle way. So I am grateful.

Thank you for sharing this lesson for free. Following along to the end made me feel that amazing ballon feeling in my abdomen that oftentimes is restricted 🎈I tremble A LOT with the inner thighs work which was kind of amusing!
@deborahbowes54023 жыл бұрын
Hi Minniesota, I love that you could feel the fullness of the abdomen with breathing. The trembling in the inner thighs happens for a lot of people as the tension reduces in the whole pelvic floor system. You can lean the knees together to support the inner thigh muscles when you are resting. Thanks for your nice words, too.
@ramonaring13163 жыл бұрын
The trembling is the same response you get, when you do TRE exercises. It is a trauma release reaction and it's a very good thing! :) I think it's mainly the psoas muscle that is shaking.

I would love to purchase the series ! Is the $240 before the 40% would come off? If I were to purchase both series could 49%be honored still after so long? I found this video wonderful.. I’m hoping in the series that there is something about standing and not contracting the pelvic floor… I noticed when I stand I am holding my lower abdomen below my belly button too tight always we’re just a normal walking and breathing
@MovementCreativity Жыл бұрын
hi! the sale was from several years ago... and yes! the series definitely supports the ability to stand without over contracting the pelvic floor. It is all about the pelvic floor as a dynamic system related to your whole body/ self in various relationships to gravity.

I love this lesson! I’ve been doing Feldenkrais for 6 years and didn’t know there were lessons for the pelvis other than pelvic clock. I’m having lots of distress in that area with lots of incontinance. My inner organs are also distending a bit. It’s so uncomfortable but I’m not interested in surgery. I’m wondering if your lessons can help? This was so gentle and clearly explained. I would love to have more from you.

Any tips on modifying this for rib flare ? Think the diaphragm and breathing is already compromised with rib flare and lots of these exercises become really hard surprisingly (especially the “breathing below bellybutton” and exercises with arms behind head). Assuming lots of pelvic floor issues stem from the rib flare. Anyways, absolutely a blessing to have this video and exercise and thank you so much!
@deborahbowes5402 Жыл бұрын
Good question! I suggest taking it slow, in short sessions daily or throughout the day, observing your breathing and the movement of the body with the breath. Maybe this sounds too simple, but it's the way to make a change in how you use yourself. You have a unique bodily anatomy and learning to use what you have in the most comfortable way is how to approach my Feldenkrais Lessons. Do the lesson several times, without trying to accomplish the exact movement, just pay attention, sense your body, your attitude towards yourself, be kindful with your movement and one day, you will find how to improve your breathing..the discovery is part of the process. I hope this helps.

@deborahbowes54022 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria, Thank you for sharing your experience. I would suggest waiting a few days and then do the lesson again. Learning and improvement is always possible and happens in surprising ways. Take your time and you can stop at any point, then continue the next day. The trembling is common, often a sign of reducing the muscular tension so that your muscles are able to lengthen to their biological resting length, that is, a healthy relaxation. Trembling can be a little scary, but it will pass with further lessons.
@marianoelerosa46042 жыл бұрын

I enjoyed this lesson very much! It is the second time that I do the lesson. Each time I feel a little burning in my right hip and tension in my right piriformis. What does it indicate? Thanks!
@deborahbowes54024 жыл бұрын
Hi Luce, I would suggest that you do the lesson with smaller movements, maybe slower, and with longer pauses to discover how much movement you can do before any pain is elicited. Having pain or burning with some of the movements suggests to me that there may be some dysfunction or injury or a habitual way of moving that is causing pain. The idea is to develop more awareness and to improve the quality of your movement. It's not important how much movement you do.

I don't have incontinence but I do have a bladder prolapse. Can the pelvic course help with this? Thank you
@deborahbowes54023 жыл бұрын
Hello Stephanie, Good question. My pelvic floor lessons are to improve the way your pelvic floor works for all the functions it is involved with, such as maintaining continence, sexuality, balance, core strength, breathing more easily and more. There are many aspects to a bladder prolapse and varying degrees of prolapse. I can say that other women with a bladder prolapse have felt better after going through the course.

@MovementCreativity4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear... whenever you have tension in an area and you do a Feldenkrais lesson that focuses there, make sure to move slowly, gently, do less, even to the point of imagining movements. often a strategy we use with Feldenkrais lessons is to bring attention to a place that does not have difficulty and expand out from there, since we are one system. I have other lessons on this KZbin channel you could explore. Perhaps go to a lesson working with the jaw, or neck and shoulders, or feet... If you would like more 1:1 support you could reach out to Deborah and schedule a private session with her. All the best to you.
