I have a guess leather jacket that I've been wondering about if I can cut it up into thin strips to maybe braid to use as a bracelet can I do that ,are is that a bad idea.

Hi Joyce. That would probably work for making strips to braid together. If you're fine with cutting up the jacket, we don't see why you couldn't try it!

I think that's great, I would be careful of the areas that are more worn or broken down then others, also check the grain on the underside that it isn't worn down, I had a leather bag once that the leather was so weak that you could tear it like paper! :(

Okay, that is made with this magnetic clasp: www.artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/leather-cord-usa-20x2-5mm-copper-etched-pattern-glu-n-go-magnetic-clasp-set/, two strands of this braided leather: www.artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/leather-cord-usa-4-5mm-metallic-moroccan-red-flat-braided-leather/ and one strand of 10mm flat leather like this one: www.artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/leather-cord-usa-10mm-chocolate-leather-strap/ You just glue the ends of the leather into each end of the clasp using an adhesive like super glue! I hope this helps!

Thank you. I found a metal cuff with a hole on each end & I was thinking about getting them & attaching chains to them & getting leather end caps for the leather that I can attach chains to then get 3 loop magnetic clasps & attaching the leather & metal cuff to it but I'm not sure it will work.
