Stefanie does nice painting . Clean. Nice glow, blushing. Baby doesnt look dead, her babies has life and circuation flow appearance, with nice natural yellow undertones and also appreciate that baby doesnt look bruised with too much blue anywhere (some reborn artists i feel overdo the blue showing up too much).. but you and stef are a great team. Both of you have mastered the skill of reborning very well. Nice artistry guys. Thanks for the turorial videos and reborn reveals as you do. I do appreciate you two sharing with us your reborn journey experiences.

Thank you for sharing your skills with us. I am definitely saving your tutorial videos because I am going to try reborning. I know it's not easy but you really make it look easy. Your work amazes me. So does Stephanie's. I own one of her works of art. She was one of her "budget babies" but i love her and she is awesome.

thanks for the video! I bought a reborn that needs rooting of the hair due to the "artist" who just glued a very cheap wig to its head. I think the hair rooting would look a whole lot better and be tougher when I barely put a brush against the hair. also my vinyl doll's eyelashes are falling off. the baby itself looks real just needs a few touch ups.

I am watching your brilliant angle toward the neck, and We so wish all artists angled hair properly, not like rays from the sun that all go directly out from the middle. It's such a disappointment when people do beautiful work with every single thing and then you realize that your wonderful sculpt, high-rated seller has this rooting error. I even pulled all the hair out of one of my EXPENSIVE ones, just to get rid of that look. I started over, correcting the other artists' work. GORGEOUS WORK!

@nanasreborns Yes! Of course. I already have a video related to this, but I can cover more and get a better angle of my work. Thank you for commenting and watching 💕

If one does not want to use Mohair, I was pondering if it could be substituted by gettinga store bought doll and cut the hair off it and use that instead... Would that work atall ?? I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks. God Bless. I tried painting the hair, its just No go for me, I mapped it and looked fine, but when painted was a toatle disaster.so thought I'd better move on toRooting or wigs. Lol... :(

Wow so fast and yet so finely rooted, i just cant root from the ends and i cant get on with the fork needle either, both of which is needed to achieve rooting like this. Wish i could do it like this. having to try and aim one hair on the head and root from the middle takes forever!

Looks very nice👍👍 maybe you can help me with a rooting technique ,I have only one working hand it's my right .I love painting and making reborns but when it comes to rooting I never like my result ,because I don't have a left hand to tack down and hold the hair I have to set it on the head and just poke the needle around I try to Stay at the end of the hair but it just slip slides off and around so I always hate my results 😟 can you think of an alternative way? Just thought I would ask a pro. Your rooting is emaculant love it

Old skool rooting needle tip: i use an organ brand sewing machine needle size 9. I take cutco brand scissors (black handled scissors as regular cutters wont cut the strong organ metal needles) and so ya, anwyways: i cut the sharp tip off right at the eye which makes a forked Y.. it grabs 1 or 2 hairs. I like this method better than felting needles the shaft is so strong never breaks . (Btw i cut at a slight slant) this is my favorite needle method also for the length of needle in the mushroom holder tool, i have good control. Size 9 needles, are thinner than 42 gauge felting needles yet stronger. I am guessing it is 46 gauge. Love it. Been doing this since 2007. Have tried felting needles but i cant get the hang of using.

Omg, Jackie...I'm so freaking jealous!! Do you find that you are naturally good at reborning? (Like, was it destiny for you to become a reborn artist? Don't mean to sound cheesy...Haha) Your nails are so gorgeous! How much mohair do you think you go through for each doll?
@danieldelon62776 жыл бұрын
I like the way you root . I do the same . yes, I would charge the same price . We spend so many hours on a doll. We shouldn't sale them cheap anyway.

Thank you again, for the fantastic tutorial. Rooting is still something of a challenge to me. I have a few questions...Do you mind sharing where you get the JS mohair? And the prisma pencil too? Do you tend to glue the hair in place as you go or once at the end? And finally, do you cut it as you root, or just when all the rooting is completed? I really appreciate these videos!! :)))
@lauren57448 жыл бұрын
Prisma pencil can be purchased at a craft store. If you have a hobby lobby near you, they sell them individually and in packs. I am still trying to find Jessica smith mohair as well!

It depends on the needle too because if it has 6 barbs..it has the potential to grab 6 hairs.

I find I break a lot of needles if I do not soften the head. Do you heat the head up to soften it to keep from breaking the needle? If so what method do you find best to heat it up? At the moment I myself am using a sock of heated raw rice but I looking for a better method.

Jackie, do you cut the mohair before you begin rooting? If it's say 8" long. Or do you wait till the end. I didn't know if that's necessary for say a half oz on a nb head to make more usable hair.
