Drummer is the man. Great example of how on point drumming holds the sound together. Not a beat missed. Chapeau.
@DustownTV11 ай бұрын
well, tbh (from a drummer's perspective) his part is only to stay on the fabricated beat. nothing impressive there, as he is not audible at all and hence he doesn't care to add any fills or specials to/above the guide track (check his hihat play in the 16th parts, for instance at Turbo Killer. it is tiring to play like that for 1h20, so he plays 8th in regular parts) - trust me, playing 1:1 to the tape can make you feel like you are the machine, run by the machine - that you programmed haha XD
@@DustownTV he's playing the hi-hat notes exactly as they were laid down in the original track, note that in the first verse, there are no hats in the first half of that section and 8th notes in the second half, whereas in the second verse it starts with 8th notes and gets up to speed with 16th notes from the second half onward. You can check it as much as you want but it was spot on. It's not easy to do an ungrateful job of trying to sound like the programmed drums as much possible, because it seems like it is neither rewarding (can fool some to be mistaken for tape like mötley crüe lol) nor convenient (consistent 16th notes on hats for this long is a pain in the ass) but there was no backing track here, like it's beyond dispute. I'm not saying he's playing 100% of the notes from the record, but he's serving and supporting the song, no need to add cocky fills and stand out of the mix unreasonably, and he is still able to play it in his style while also adding some fine details here and there which have added value to the songs. Seem them live in 2022, he was making an excellent job.
@phillix111 ай бұрын
I don't put into question how good he does it, But there are at least some backing tracks for the drums. Check 18:00 he is hitting the Crash while the backing track plays the toms.@

I noticed his drum rolls didn't match up or even missed. I think it was prerecorded audio for the whole thing.

Session drummer here. He is covering a pre recorded track with triggers on his own instruments, post-edited. Still a great drummer. Most performances of the electronic genre do this. It's kind of like auto tuning your own voice live, but for drums - you still play the drums they're just not all you.

What I like about darksynth guys Carpenter and Perturbator is that they pull people towards synthwave. Day Stalker, Night Prowler was amazing, the sounds I like most from Carpenter, better follow-through. OBS: Turbo Killer is amazing

Revisiting this months later holy hell one of the best live sets I’ve ever seen across any genre. Unreal.

Amazing they got Greg Puciato (and all the other vocalists) in this set. Wow.

After watching this amazing show like four or five times, I really really hope that Carpenter Brut will record more music with Persha and Greg Puciato. While they have so different, quite opposite styles as vocalists and they are at different stages of their careers, yet it would be so interesting to hear the result. I love the 80s vibe of Lipstick Masquerade & Persha's energy on the scene.

I first heard of this guy from the soundtrack to Furi (PS4 game). Since then I've always wanted to go see him live but his shows were always on during the week..

Brut always brings the heat with the live shows. Thanks for bringing this one to those of us who couldn't be there in person.

Incroyable.

@re8orn_phoenix Жыл бұрын

Alex Westaway looks like the NES version of Marty Mcfly. So good to see him live! Here's hoping for a Gunship tour to go along with the next record.

I'm glad i was able to witness this in person. It was pure madness. The Imaginary Fire was fucking nuts. One of the best live performances i've ever seen, it was hair rising.

I am ridiculously happy that Greg Puciato got to do this live.

John Carpenter must be proud. And I think Edgar Froese (Tangerine Dream) too, wherever he is. I love that new generation that took Electronic Music by storm.
