Narciss - Stone Techno Festival 2023 - ARTE Concert

Bien qu’iel ait choisi pour alias le nom d’un égocentrique mythique, Narciss aborde la techno sans une once d’égo. Son inspiration, iel la puise dans les films de samouraïs des années 1950, le hip-hop des années 80 ou encore les disques de techno à étiquette blanche et les animes des années 90.

Ce que recherche Narciss dans toutes les tonalités qui l’influencent, c’est toujours l’émotion - avec une volonté perceptible de transporter les raveurs, si possible jusqu’à l’extase. Narciss est un·e enfant des années 90, mais aussi un phénomène qui touche le public bien au-delà de sa génération. Son secret réside dans le groove et le swing, car iel n’a cessé de démontrer sa capacité à comprendre ce qui touche les gens et les fait bouger. Derrière ses platines, iel crée une énergie sonore confinant à l’euphorie qui, alliée à des grooves saturés, fait éclore un sourire sur tous les visages.
Concert filmé le 8 juillet 2023 à l'occasion du festival Stone Techno au Zollverein, site inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.

That crowd is textbook. They’re having a blast, must have been one helluva set to experience live. The energy Narciss conveys through a screen is mesmerising.

Just came back to this recording because I got excited about Stone Techno 2024 and I have to say this set was my favorite of the weekend. We also had an insane weather collapse prior to this with the festival site being fully evacuated for 2.5 hours and Narciss was one of the first to play again. I remember everyone rushing to their stage, soaking wet from the storm (people were extremely mad btw.) and then they absolutely blew us away with this banger of a set. Narciss literally saved the day for me. Especially that moment at 7:30 where Do It For You was played. Gosh that was really one of the best experiences ever for me. And in hindsight I am actually thankful for the storm because it made this so much better. Unfortunately, this misses the first two tracks of their set, because they were just setting up the cameras when Narciss already started playing.
