I saw a review of the PR900W gen2 which comes with a regulator out of the box and they were reporting it competed with massively more expensive rifles on accuracy. The only thing that puts me off is the drop in accuracy using the multi-shot magazine, something the other reviewer also commented on.

Got a pr900w gen2, I would like to make it a little bit more powerful. Right now it shoots 250m/s (820fps) and 29J with 14,35 grain pellets

Hi there. Remember that the regulator cannot make your rifle more powerful... In most cases you loose a bit of power.... but gain consistency.

Hi! With the built-in regulator, can bar amounts give maximum power? In my country there is no joules limit. The factory says 275m/sec, is it real? Also do the first and last shot have the same power?
@affordableairgunningbyjb6994 Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Remember that the regulator is not there to increase power... It cannot do that. All it can do is regulate the pressure... Thus if your rifle is now shooting 275m/sec then it will be less when you fit the regulator. However you will have more consistent speed with the regulator... The PR900 is a good little rifle and you only need to fit a regulator if you want to reduce speed, but increase consistency... Regarding 1st to "last" shot. The PR900 does "ok" with the 1st till about No 15 shot... Then speed starts to change ... With the regulator your first 15 shot will be almost exactly the same, but at about 230m/sec.... (I would guess.... Happy Hunting !! Ps: Actually took two youngsters with my PR900s yesterday to go shoot starlings. Great fun !!

@@affordableairgunningbyjb6994 pr900w gen2 comes with a integrated regulator? So every 15 shots you fill it with air again so that you have constant same shots? With the regulator how far does the bullet go straight to hit the target? Diana stormrider 5.5 is the same airgun rifle?

Hi. I wonder if you can help or point me in the right direction. My son's pr900 has been unused for a couple of months. When trying to re-pressure it won't. The compressot is pumping bur somewhere the air is getting out.
@affordableairgunningbyjb69942 жыл бұрын
Hi there Paul. Lets start by asking if maybe the rifle was "shot" without any pressure in it..? (My Krall Broke its valve when this happened....) Can you hear where the air is escaping ... ?? Is it at the refilling probe?? Or at the magazine side... ?? If you cannot hear the air escaping due to the compressor running then maybe you can put your finger on the barrel tip whilst the compressor is filling the rifle. If it builds up pressure in the barrel then the valve is not sealing anymore... (Cocking lever must be forward for the this so the air does not escape at the back...) Then just to check: I know it sounds stupid, but did you close the "drain valve" on the compressor....?? I once spent a lot of time trying to figure out why one of my rifles was not filling. This only minutes after I filled a different one... Probably took me 10 min to realise that I never closed the drain valve on the compressor and thus it COULD NOT build any pressure.... Waiting to hear back from you... Regards JB

Hi there. Before the regulator it was 26-27 Joules , now it is 16 Joules... Remember that the regulator DOES NOT increase power... It only regulates and controls it..... Regads JB

hello, for the regulator I did not know. Apart from the spring and the air jet, what should be changed to increase the power of this rifle? thank you

Hi again. If you bought a full power PR900, and not the sub 12 foot pound version they sell in UK, then do not change it.... It will give you about 20 for pound in .177 caliber and that is more than enough to use and enjoy. For the price of the PR900 it is a very efficient rifle and your shot count is "ok" for the small air tank it has.... By changing it you will most probably loose efficiency and get less shots per fill... I only added a regulator to mine to reduce the power from 20 to 12 foot-pound and get more shots from a fill.... Regards JB

At that distance the grouping is crap. Consistency s no good without a good group

Hi there. After installing the Reg i shot about 15 or 20 "rapid" shots just to settle the reg. Then Took those same pellets and shot with the chronograph. I have 3 PR900 rifles and they all like different pellets... I did not mind what pellets I used as I was only interested in seeing the results of the Regulator. The rifle was about 20 f/lbs prior and I ordered a reg that would give me sub 12f/lbs. Just looking at the group closing from the 1st set of pellets tot he 2nd lighter ones you can see that the pellets play a major role in the accuracy. I have many different pellets and by playing around I am sure I will find one that "this" rifle likes more. However, at the range I am shooting starlings and finches, this is MORE than ample !! The fact of the matter is: This is a great regulator... Happy hunting !! Regards JB

Watched both videos and think I'm confident I can tackle this now. I want the same setup 12ftlb as I'm in the UK. What pressure was your regulator setup for? Going to request the same and drill the transfer port the same size and hope the results are similar. Can always look at adjusting things afterwards to fine tune it. Also what useable shot count are you getting now with the regulator? Many thanks

Hi there Spakka. I will reply on Monday... Just out for the weekend and cannot remember the Reg Pressure settings. However, when you order the reg you just tel them what power output you want and they "pre set" it for you. .... Also when taking the rifle apart, Just check as on the newer rifles you do not need to remove the pressure gauge before you can remove the stock. They have increased the hole in the stock so that it fits over the pressure gauge and thus you can remove the stock and once it is off you can then easily unscrew the pressure gauge. You do not need to use the pliers like I did.... You can use the pressure gauge to purge the last 50 -75 bar from the rifle carefully unscrewing it to allow the air to escape. Do not try to unscrew it with more than that as it will put a lot of strain on the gauge to try and remove it it the rifle is still at high pressure... Regards JB

The regulator was set at 85bar..... When you order the regulator, you tell them what you want and they will "pre-set" it. I was very surprised to see how accurate their "pre-set was.... Keep me updated as you progress !!

Transferport di 2 mm o abbassare la pressione in regolatore e lasciare il TP di 3.5... Aiutami tu xk favore Grazie

Hi there. I would humbly disagree with your statement. Most don't understand the full function of the regulator and MANY have asked me what regulator they should fit to get more power. So firstly, they DO NOT improve energy/velocity. They actual "reduce" max power , but they give you consistency over a wider spread of shots. They can increase shot count, but at reduced power level. EVERY rifle I fitted it to became significantly more consistent , giving me a more accurate rifle. The Only reason some have and some don't is cost... NOTHING else !! If yours was "ruined", look at the person that did the installation... period !! If you want to know exactly what a regulator does and how it works, look at my video on that...
