@@ArtemisHobbyhorses What made you decide on odd colored eyes(heterocromia?) Horses normally only have blue eyes. If the white marking on the face is close to the eyes or the horse is a perlino/perino ctemmello the former is a bay horse with 2 copies of the cream gene and the latter is a chestnut or palomino with 2 copies of the cream gene.

I really love your hobby horses, they are simply amazing, but I think you should use something else for nose and eye gloss than nail polish, if it was a nail polish, hard to tell without any label Nail polish can give you greasy look and can start being sticky over a year or more, so it would be better for your horses if you consider using real glossy varnish wit UV protection, so the colors won't fade over time too :) Keep making these beauties!

Where did you buy the mane fur and eyes? It looks amazing btw 🤩
@ruoplay8149 Жыл бұрын
I think the eyes are taxidermy deer eyes an for the mane you just simply search “horse mane extensions”. Search around for abit and you can find ‘em or you can just simply take some wool and brush it with a brush till it has the same effect. It is actually even cheaper and easier but less thick and rough so if you want manes that also feel extremely realistic buying the mane extensions would be better but the wool method is way cheaper and also does the job.
@ruoplay8149 Жыл бұрын
You can also just search up “taxidermy horse eyes”, “taxidermy deer eyes” or “fake horse/deer” eyes. Also judging by the size the eyes are compared to her fingers I would say the eyes she used are 20mm but I may have slightly bigger or smaller hands so it should be around 20mm. But of course you should buy the eyes at the size that matches how big you want the hobby horse to be!
@blizzardsiberian4447 Жыл бұрын
@@ruoplay8149 Do you know what foam she uses? And what fur she uses? (Sorry for questioning) and what painting tool she uses? She uses the painting tool in some of her other videos. I'm also curious on what store she bought the gypsum stuff she used for molding. Again sorry for the questions but I wanna make a Hobbyhorse of my own specifically foam ones I already have glass eyes, a sewing kit, but I need foam, fur, and the painting tool to paint lol
@ruoplay8149 Жыл бұрын
@@blizzardsiberian4447 also for painting she uses an air brush. Tho those are pretty expensive and aren’t worth it if you only use it once or twice. Hand painting it with the brush also isn’t to bad but certain coats won’t be as pretty with an airbrush. I still paint everything by hand and it really isn’t that bad. Just takes some practice and patience. An airbrush can be worth it in the longer run if make hobby horses as a side hustle or can use it for other projects and hobbies
@ruoplay8149 Жыл бұрын
@@blizzardsiberian4447 also one more thing. For the faux fur fabric (fur) I would not recommend to buy to cheap. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. There are different types of faux fur fabric but I don’t know the name. The one you would want for your hobby horse would be soft and smooth instead of soft, messy and pretty rough to the touch. I can’t really explain how to see the difference on photo but I can say how to detect the difference by touch. The one I would recommend are more expensive but very soft, pretty heavy in big quantities, smooth (your hand should be able to glide over it with ease) and has a lot of highlights that are clearly visible. The cheaper ones I don’t recommend are not as soft, very lightweight, rougher to the touch (your hand can’t glide through as easy cause the fur causes many little knots) and does still have highlights but not as bright and smooth as the more expensive one. The expensive one will also have a more natural look and can’t really stay up straight when you twist the fur into a cone. Cheap one is more used for mane and tails and keeps the cone shape which causes it to look messy if not brushed daily. Expensive is also more durable since you can easily pull pieces of fur out by the cheap one. Expensive is better ofcourse but the cheap one also does the job. Just need to brush it abit more and be gentler with it. If possible buy the expensive one cause it’s just way more durable. Also one big difference is that expensive had a good quality fabric on the other side of the fabric so sewing might be a little harder but will look way better. Cheap mostly just had a mesh alike backside that is easier to see but les durable and sews are more visible if you don’t brush the horse from time to time. This may sound weird but expensive is “colder” then cheap. Expensive will feel a little colder when it hasn’t been touched for a little while. Expensive warms up and cools down faster and more noticeable while cheap mostly stays the same and is very noticeable “warmer” then expensive. Tho one big flaw is that painting expensive is a little harder cause while it does look more natural the colors fade a lot and get washed off more easily so you might want to keep that in mind. On cheap the paint will nearly be as bright as on paper no matter the color of the fur fabric while expensive it’s color significantly affects the brightness of paint
