Been feeling depressed recently. No job, No money. Hardly picked my guitar up in over a month. It's starting to think I don't love it anymore ! I shouldn't complain, there's lots worse off than me. Keep your guitar close Mark, mine has always been a source of comfort, even if its just playing Blues very badly... in the end a good guitar is more reliable than any number of bad people, who come and go... Never trade, sell or neglect your guitar. I made that mistake & I won't again. Compared to me, you are a far better player. You should be proud, not everyone is as skilled as you.

This is just a masterpiece. As far as I heard, Chris Rea retired a while ago and we won't be seeing any new releases anymore but songs like this or "Texas" really showed how amazing his songs are. However, it's also funny that his songs are always played on the radio whenever there's something stressful going on. For example, my workplace got hit with a cyber attack and when I was responding and trying to limit the amount of damage, The Road To Hell was playing form my co-worker's internet radio player. Then, 7 weeks ago I was stuck in traffic because the highway was flooded and many people (including me) had regular European cars which could hydrolock if water would go into the air intake. So, when I was building a snorkel with plastic bottles, vacuum cleaner hose and self seal plastic rubber tape, this song started playing in the radio. This really made me smile because the radio station couldn't find a better moment to play that song than the moment where I was modifying my car XD

This track is truly sublime. Mark squeezes out so much passion in those bends and licks. Even though this epic track was largely ignored by passers-by (or so it appears) Mark’s smile at the little girl giving a tip, and again at the end of the clip, suggests that playing live gives ‘him’ real pleasure. It certainly does to listeners on this channel.
