Lourié was a real visionary, as ahead of his time as his one-time friend Stravinsky was (including very early forms of dodecaphony and unconventional notation in his piano music). His best works (e.g. Concerto spirituale, In the Temple of Golden Dreams, the string quartets) are just as good as Stravinsky's and in fact are thought to have influenced the Symphony of Psalms among other works. Sadly, he was more or less forgotten after Stravinsky gave him the cold shoulder after a disagreement with the latter's mistress at the time. The music world is long overdue for a Lourié revival, I hope it comes soon...

Does anybody know whether this available score is an official publishing of his piece? Based on his manuscript or something alike? I am very much interested on studying his writing for strings, however, it is hard to find scores and parts... Thanks!
