WOOOW my encouragement finally, i needed to hear this. The societal/cultural norms are really flawed, "When are you marrying, Time is ticking" as if it would stop if one marries. I felt my mental batteries fully recharged thank you Advocate.

Good discussion we have here but i strongly feel we generally have a "presumptive presenter effect" (Its my terminology), where people who have the privilege to present anywhere (Podcast, church, etc) presume to be more knowledgeable & possessing the most sound school of thought than anyone else. They then make some very strong suggestions without due thought and care, as a result it create unnecessary societal problems. Its akin to abuse of authority. To ask if someone is married or has kids is not disrespectful if done in context. It will be rude to ask strangers about that but certainly not if they are your acquaintances. Also it should be considered within the context of the reasons why the question is being asked. A blanket "Asking people if they are married is rude" is misleading and coming from a person who has some influence in the Zim community, it may be very misleading.
