Arthur Russell - Time Away

Spotify recommended this song to me and I had no idea why I liked it or how much I would love his other music. But this song, being quite different from the others, is so special to me in its own way. Besides being my introduction to his music, it really makes me feel happy when I am doing the otherwise mundane and mind-numbing tasks that I have to do to take care of myself and my space. And suddenly I am very happy to be tidying up my home and doing laundry with this song on :)

the album on which this appears, Love Is Overtaking Me, is full of really sweet, idiosyncratic (almost musically naive, even though arthur russell was a classically trained cellist) shortform songs by him. the whole LP is filled with similarly endearing raw gems, def recommended!
