Arthur Smith Reacts to Saints Final Touchdown, Job Status Following Blowout

The Atlanta Falcons were blown out in the second half of their season finale against the New Orleans Saints. A 17-17 halftime game turned into a 48-17 Falcons loss. Head coach Arthur Smith took had a heated exchange with Saints head coach Dennis Allen immediately after the game after the Saints scored their final touchdown from the victory formation. Smith wasn't interested in listing his accomplishments following the game as his job status is in question ahead of Black Monday.

The problem in Atlanta took too long to develop- the first year Smith saved them from a horrendous season and nearly got them in the playoffs. Last year we saw the same thing. This time he did it again, which shows no improvement. It then became evident that he experiments way too much and simply refuses to believe a set team can win a game. He is so stuck up as a coach that believes he knows what he’s doing and the players are failing him when it’s the other way around. I’m not a Falcons fan, but I know what it’s like to have a club coach like that, and no one deserves that- it’s supposed to be a fun game that is always competitive and never thrown. I really hope Arthur is kicked out tomorrow. He and Rivera deserve the boot the most.

No, if they lined up regularly then the Saints might have stopped the RB from getting his incentive touchdown. Doing it this way allowed for almost a 100% chance of him getting it since it would be unexpected and their defense wouldn't be trying. By the way the coach should have known that and wanted the RB to get the incentive, but then he's a bit of a jerk. Good show Winston, you had the RB's back.
