This is a re-version of the original that Harry-Gregson Williams do for Ground Zeroes, but in my opinion the original is better fitted in Ground Zeroes

One of the few tracks in this abysmal game that actually felt like a Metal Gear track.

@@FirstnameLastname-bv8ke For me, abysmal was the correct word. Below are some of the things I can recall from the top of my head... The marketing for this game misled everybody into thinking that we would see Big Boss truly turn into this former shadow of himself, through unforgivable acts. Granted, it wasn't even the real Big Boss, but some inexplicable doppelganger. Not even the doppelganger (with a cheesy name btw "Venom Snake" and cheesy character design) committed horrible acts. All they did was make him look moody and say buzzwords such as "If the time comes, I'll pull the trigger". Now, going back to the marketing of this game, everybody and their cat saw the trailers of how "Big Boss" was walking down that corridor; transitioning from MGS3 Big Boss up until his final appearance. Looked scary, right? Almost as if he would, I dunno... "become a demon"? Where in this game did he become a "demon"? What, fultoning a puppy back to base? Creating a zoo at Mother Base? Then you have the hyped up, pointless moment where the "demon" shoots the children in the cage.... Yeah, it actually turns out, he was just shooting the locks on their cage to free them! Everything in the trailers were misleading people into thinking this would be a game like MGS3 in the sense that it was a straight forward story depicting the downfall of one of the greatest video game characters of all time. That aside, the story was 98% filler and 2% bullshit. The story was non-essential to the MG series. The 2%, being moments like meeting Ocelot and smashing the mirror at the end when hearing the REAL Big Boss tape. The rest of the game was running around a vastly empty sandbox, fultoning things, fultoning people, meeting irrelevant characters who don't even pop up in chronologically future MGS games (1, 2,3,4,PW). The big "twist" at the end would have been better had the game been actually properly finished (but we have only Kojima to blame for this). This is the main issue I have with the idea of Venom Snake: The MGS universe has always been a bit technologically advanced for their respective time periods in each game, but, I could not accept that in 1975 or '76, technology was SO good that they were able to turn a man into Big Boss! Not just physically, but also his voice, too! And if this doesn't make you laugh, maybe the next line will. They were able to hypnotise this fool into thinking he was him! LOL. Now let's jump forward to the Liquid Ocelot Insurrection in MGS4 when it was revealed that Ocelot had undergone the arm therapy to fool himself into thinking he was Liquid in order to *fool* the Patriots. Well... why didnt Ocelot just undergo the same process as Venom Snake? Why not just magically look, sound and think as Liquid? I mean after all, MGSV is sadly canon now, and it is set before the events of MGS4, so Ocelot knows about the possibility of this procedure. Venom Snake, in my opinion, is a flawed character design.

The idea of a mother base to fly back to whilst banging out 80s music was awesome! The graphics were of course going to be beautiful. The movements were flawless. But why was there was one *essential* gameplay aspect missing: CQC knife. If we are supposed to be "deMONs", then why doesn't Venom Snake run around with a knife. I mean, Kojima is happy for us to let us run around splitting throats but we can't hunt with a knife, like in MGS3 and MGS4?! I understand it wasn't there in Peace Walker because the theme of that game was peace so instead, Big Boss adopted a stun knife to shock his enemies lol. But going back to MGSV, the knife was gone. Hell, even in the abysmal MGO3, the knife was added in as an *update* LOL! What the heeeellll! The twist at the end, because of the game being cut short was ridiculous. It felt truly like a twist for the sake of a twist. Why was it so important for Kojima to implement that twist? What did it do to enhance the other MGS games? Nothing. Apparently, he did the twist to explain why Big boss "died twice" at the end of MG1 and MG2. Okay okay so lemme get this straight... Kojima wanted a way to explain how the most badass soldier to ever live survived twice? This the same badass soldier who fucking *bench pressed* Metal Gear Zeke from stomping on him??! Lmao! The same soldier, may I add, who survived Shagohod, *Volgin*, *The Boss*, The Whole Bloody Peace Walker Incident AND the destruction of Mother Base! We reallllly needed an explanation on how Big Boss survived in MG1 which came out in 1987?! Something doesn't feel right there. Also, the concept of Sahealanthropus was laughable. In MGS3, set in 1964, the only truly technological wonders were the hovercraft which the soldiers used and the Shagohod (but even the Shagohod's design was explained in a way which made it plausible; a rocket scientist developed it etc etc and it could boost its speed based on technology similar to that of the Arms Race). What was the explanation for Sahaelanthropus?! How, in 1984, were they able to make a walking battle tank literally jump up through the atmosphere almost, do unimaginable things that not even MG Rex or Ray could and also, wield a bloody sword! Kojima had blatantly ran out of ideas and I can feel, personally, that he had no passion for this game. He had intended to end the series after MGS3 and then MGS4. What was the theme and message of MGS5?

As for the open worlds, they looked beautiful but that's just it: they *looked* beautiful only. There wasn't much to do and it felt like style over substance. This game would have been instantly better if they had implemented a bloody knife into Venom's arsenal. It would feel like Rambo sort of in Afghanistan hunting down men through the deserts with a knife. But instead, we have to crawl around, get spotted in slllooOoOoow motion and kill the guard and repeat. And as far Chapter 3, well... we all know what happened there. Chapter 3 would have set up the motives of Liquid Snake but nope, Kojima pissed of Konami with wasting all their money and time and told him to roll the game out unfinished! So, we were left with a story which hilariously had only *two chapters* lmao! What sort of story has only two chapters?! They may as well have taken out the "chapter" sign cards. So, these are things that I remember from the top of my head. I havent played it since 2016. And also, it really stings me because I bought a PS4 specifically for this game. Why? Because I had been duped by the trailers and marketing that we were finally going to get to see the glorious, long awaited story of the downfall of the greatest soldier that ever lived. Instead, we got a Peace Walker DLC; fultoning puppies; meeting random characters which disappeared after the game; watching an awkwardly silent jeep ride between Venom and Skullface; watching the "demon" have a water fight with Quiet (you know, the same lady he was fibbing that he would kill) and witnessing the destruction of the legacy of the REAL Big Boss. Some say "Yes but Big Boss was evil! Because he let Venom get all the attention from the world and the Patriots". There's one flaw with that, the whole doppelganger idea was Zeros. All Big Boss did was keep up with the lie which isn't so bad as compared to turning a man into himself. I can rant on and on about how bad and utterly embarrassing this game is. But these are the points that come to my mind. With the exception of Ground Zeroes, MGSV, in my opinion, is abysmal and I personally do not consider it canon. Happy to debate :) and apologies for long read.
