The crew listens to some clips from Artie's appearance at William Shatner's Comedy Central Roast back in August 2006.

The Stern Show DIED when Artie plunged that knife into his stomach. Love Artie, miss him on the show. Love Howard, miss the old Howard. the show is on life support lately.

Ohh yes, Artie isn’t a hack comedian who blew a chance he didn’t deserve at all. Its that big nosed Howard freak who doesn’t recognize all that talent he’s surrounded by; b list comedians who fail without him, meanwhile he’s still going strong after 40 years. The show sucks now, but it’s because he’s PC, with a turn around and a few lines of coke, he could give us the good shows all over again.

@@chindaoparanma248 make up your mind, is the show still “going strong” or does it suck for being too PC? I can’t make sense of your comment thru all the sarcasm?! As for Artie, say what you will about his self-induced failures, but any true fan of the show knows that Artie was a talented guy and a significant contributor to the show for a number of years. Also, I’ve seen Artie do stand up in Hoboken in early 2020, he was sober and very funny. Had he stayed relatively together I’m quite sure he would still have a successful stand up career. As for Howard, I’ve been listening since 1991. His therapy sessions have ABSOLUTELY transformed him to where he admits he can’t even stomach listening to his old shows because of how hostile he was towards other celebrities mostly. Yet it was that exact trait that made him so interesting and separated him from others. I believe 1995 Howard would be disgusted by 2022 Howard. Wether that’s right or wrong doesn’t matter. And I can say with 1000% certainty, 1995 Howard is the reason that 2022 Howard has a mansion in the Hamptons and a hot wife and a mega Sirius contract. He’s living off his past success while bashing it at the same time.

@@knickd1979 well said on both your comments. I started in 1996, but left a year after Artie did.

lol the show didnt die. I listened up until around 2018, and the main difference was more JD Ronnie; ETM, and Gary ball busting. it was closer to what the 90s show was after billy west left. I loved artie there most the days he was there but he got awful certain times in 2009. SFN started shtting on him during that time. there were times in 2009 he was great though

There are poor kids in Africa who could have used that fire to cook a meal. Instead of wasting it on a fat junky who’s only talent is making the audience cringe in unison.

This was the beginning of the end for Artie. His ego went through the roof and he carried himself like the funniest man who ever lived. Nobody on the show could say anything funny anymore cause Artie would just put them down.
