Museum collections are full of items that sometimes make you scratch your head, wondering what they are, where they came from, and how they got into your collection. Earlier this summer, the State of New Mexico Office of Public Records and Archives started planning an Archives Bizarre Bazaar event to showcase some of the unique, kooky, artistic, weird, and, yes, just plain bizarre artifacts found in museums and archives around the state. Since the National Scouting Museum collection isn’t immune from this phenomenon, Ruaidhri Crofton and Joey Freeman collected several of our more unique items and headed to Meow Wolf in Santa Fe for the event. Check out what the National Scouting Museum shared with the 400 or so visitors to the show.
