As a student studying Master's in AI, I find this highly fascinating, Augmented Intelligence is more realistic, whereas an Artificial Intelligence is more idealistic. Like any good mathematical concept, the idealistic system gives way to find general systems which in turn are required to help us build real life systems that impact real human lives .

We need to understand what's really reward in nature and AI. In my opinion, REWARD is the opposite of an abrupt end on the observation of a longer path. If the longer path is not visible, we use our previous experiences to define the longer path. If we know the end of the path, our emotional reward will be to get there by using logic. If we dont see the longer path, we use logic and previous experiences to define our reward. Remember: a car only works because the driver controls the wheels, not the opposite. Logic is a side tool, not the context. Memory is a database. Consciousness is the uncontrollable ability to have an self through memory, which know its limits and know its memories and can guide itself by using logic. Emotions are generated by rewards, and can influence consciousness state by affecting logic. ... Chuang Tzu asked himself the following question: "was I Chuang Tzu dreaming I was a butterfly or am I now really a butterfly dreaming that I am Chuang Tzu?"

I'm a graduate student at Arizona State University. I'm trying to expand upon a research theory while trying to learn more about augmented intelligence. The theory I picked was the Phenomenological Research theory. I thought the theory would be useful for properly conceptualizing the effect that the evolution of augmented intelligence is having on learners. I wanted to know if the evolution of augmented intelligence was starting to replace basic skills. By how it's described in this video it would be human intelligence transforming into augmented intelligence, transforming into artificial intelligence thus removing the skill from the average learner. Do you think the Phenomenological research theory is a good fit for the situation? Or do you suppose there is a qualitative research theory that is better suited to the situation?

Now a year after this video was uploaded and with ChatGPT drawing out around the world neither humans are longer needed. ChatGPT can generalize and be more creative than most of humans.

This is less than two years old, and with the current state of AI, you could say that LLMs have some sort of generalizing capabilities and at least debatable creativity and emotionality. Amazing times we live in.
