the creators of this group are really smart going for the manhwa stylized members instead of hyper realistic look to avoid falling into the uncanny valley; i'm glad that this concept of virtual idols can give a chance to talented people who may not adhere to the idol visual/age standard and give the real people behind the characters an opportunity to fulfill their dreams while keeping their privacy also, just like with fifty fifty, thank you Midnight Theories for introducing me to this group

I can definitely see other companies trying to replicate Plave's success but Plave is a very lightning in a bottle type thing. The company has a lot of experience with this tech, apparently enough money to invest in a project like this, and also the skill to pick out this group of guys for this. The members themselves are also amazing as idols, obviously, but them being able to ALSO be entertaining livestreamers really plays a part imo. They really took everything appealing about kpop idols and vtubers and found the perfect way to blend the two. To do that you need to be knowledgable in both areas, which isn't something most other companies can bring to the table.

I think one of the major differences between plave (and kda) and other virtual groups is the emphasis that there are real humans and voices behind the characters meanwhile other groups are at least part ai generated and that doesn't bode well for them with ai becoming more and more controversial as time goes on.

I love seeing videos about Plave and seeing just how big their getting. All 5 of them are so funny and since their's actual humans behind each of them it makes it so much more entertaining. Also their talent is one to talk about as well, all of them have such talent but Bamby is such an amazing singer, I love his voice. Wishing nothing but the best for them as they grow as artist 😊

Thanks for making a video on PLAVE! One of the members, Noah, is a known gymrat and he keeps talking about exercising during live broadcasts and one day he brought up the dumbbell lightstick as a joke. Then for april fools last year, their unveiled a fake dumbbell lightstick as a joke. Months later when VLAST gave fans the option to choose a lightstick design, most fans chose the dumbbell lightstick over the generic shape and that is how the official dumbbell lightstick was born. PLLIs love that it is unique with a special story behind it and we joke about how we're going to end up being the fittest fans after their concerts :).

it's really a one in a million chance that 5 people with amazing talents, skills, and entertaining personalities, got together and still shine as an idol despite their limitation as virtual group their team really taking this seriously too, not just a tech bro gimmick, they also considering the art, not half-assing and delivering great music, giving great contents and consistently advancing their technology

such a fun concept! Thank you for this video, I had never heard of them until now. Like another comment said, they really hit the nail in the head by making them look like webtoon characters instead of trying to go for the 'hyperrealistic' 3d route. I have a feeling that a lot of their fanbase might be manhwa enjoyers, since it's basically like having 5 main manhwa characters "come to life" as kpop idols, which is very appealing. And props to them for being so involved in the whole creative process ! the little snippets of the songs I heard here sound really really good

i really hope the future of kpop isn’t all virtual …
@Foxff0x6 ай бұрын
It won’t be. Look at VOCALOID and VTubers, they aren’t negating traditional J-Pop idols. This type of thing will ultimately stay a niche even if it gets more popular
@faatihahazzahra18516 ай бұрын
you don't need to worry, Japan has been doing virtual idols for 10 years ish and it's never overshadowing human artist. So rest easy
@iwjmp6 ай бұрын
I really don't want to sound rude, but I feel like this big hate towards virtuality sounds a bit hypocritical since kpop is already extremely virtual. We're literally virtual users who listen to music, learn about artists, watch MVs, maybe vote, get updates, etc. through virtuality most of the time, if not all of the time. But we can still connect with art through our screens. Also, imagine worrying that animated movies are going to replace movies filmed solely with humans. That doesn't happen, bc both modalities offer two different experiences. This situation is no different ✌

They been on my tiktok fyp since yejun 1st live. But I keep skipped them caused I thought they were vtuber. I'm not really fond with vtubers despite I like anime, danmei, donghua, manga, manwha, manhua, game etc. After they debuted with their 1st song, wait for you. Somehow I keep seeing pink jokkomi on my fyp. Which he keep being loud. In the same time he's real cutiepie. I gave myself one chance to watch one of their content on tiktok. After that, I get hooked! I became a peuldongie. Tho it was hard to do my research on Google. Whenever I typed PLAVE, Google will autocorrected to place. It made me mad. Luckily, I came across few plave content creators on twitter/X & tiktok. So I finally know, who is who. Now, I'm one of their loveable plli. I'm proud that my boisssss get recognition as they deserve everything in terra. They're truly full time comedians, part time virtual idols. Hahahahahahaha! My bias are berriez, bamby & yejun. Hehe💙💜💗❤️🖤
