Please note this is for updating the firmware on the Sidewinder X1 and Genius. The other printers in the Artillery range use different motherboards. X2 and Genius Pro use the Ruby motherboard.

Does anybody know how to get the PC to recognized the printer? Ive tried 3 different Windows PCs, but they all do not communicate correctly, so Cura and ponterface dont connect or see X2. Thank you...

Opening the hood does not void the warranty? I have my Artillery Sidewinder X1 printer since November 2020 (buy from Artillery 3D Expert in France), can I do this update without losing the warranty? What more does this update bring?

It is the same; This is just in case if there is a need of updating the firmware and just the different than the other way. Please note this one uses the Hex file to update the firmware. This video just shows how to flash firmware using Cura software.

Your answer doesn’t answer the question. Does this void the warranty? There is a warning on the bottom of your machines that say removing the security sticker voids the warranty. But you’ve posted a video on your official KZbin channel that shows a procedure that would void the warranty. The security sticker is conspicuously missing in the video. People just want a straight answer. Please answer the question. Are you recommending a procedure that voids the warranty for the end user?

I have to ask - is it normal for a company to ask users to open their product and mess with cables/cutting glue etc, thus voiding their warranty, rather than just plugging in a USB cable to update the firmware like most other products?

I accidentally updated the firmware without disconnecting the TFT cable, so it failed the update. And now I cannot connect anymore. What to do??

@David Miguez Sanchez its an Standard arduino driver. (arduino mega) I think it is the ch340 driver. Search for it.

Just use a REAL OS, like Debian or Ubuntu...

Me too. I contacted Artillery for Marlin 2.X+ upgrade and they sent me this link. This is very old firmware, I need 2.0.5, but don't want to mess my printer with unofficial one.

@@YuvalBenjamin its no Problem, it is postible to downgrade it to the original Firmware, it the new one dosn't work.

no you dont have to. You copy TFT firmware to SD card.

Please note: This just shows how to Flash the Motherboard Firmware via Cura software by having the hex file. There is ”NO NEED” to remove your cover or flash your firmware unless "If you need to or you are instructed to flash." Otherwise, the newest official firmware is already installed on your printer."

I just got a hornet. It arrived with a blank screen. There is literally no help anywhere. Third product I bought from artillery, and most certainly will be the last. No information on what to do in plain English. Everything is a process that's geared toward engineers. Absolutely sucks.

It's better to cut the tft cable and make a switch instead of removing all the glue in the tft connector 😝
