Quantize - Hi, Are there any plans to make quantize available for the looper?
@Artiphon4 жыл бұрын
We're continuing to work to improve Orba's software, firmware, and features. While quantizing isn't currently available, it's a feature that is definitely on the list of things we would like to implement. Be sure to stay up to date on app and firmware updates :).

Can you erase just the last overdub and not the whole track? For instance I want to fix the snare but not the rest of the drum performance.
@Artiphon4 жыл бұрын
Short answer is: no, you can't erase just the last part. We intentionally took the four-track tape recorder approach when making Orba’s looper. We want to encourage our users to play and not worry so much about getting it perfect.

Very nice. Are you able to change the sounds in each mode without the app? For instance, if I wanted to load in several drum kits and select the most appropriate one for my beat. Also, can you create and import custom scales?
@ROFLWAFFLELAWL44 жыл бұрын
AFAIK the device when plugged essentially assigns each pad selection (like bass, drum, etc) to a channel when connected to a program. So you could have several kits on at once but you wouldn't be able to say select from 8 different drum kits, select the one you want, then select different tracks. So by itself, no I don't think you could change each sound besides the ones preprogrammed. Now if you can assign the onboard sounds to different ones, that would be pretty dope.
@EscapeTheCloudsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
@@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 I guess what I mean is: could it have an 808 kit, an acoustic kit, a house kit, etc. --all under the Drum mode--and then cycle through them on the device, either using a button combination on the device, or via the app? Having only one sound/kit per mode limits the creativity factor.

Hey Mark, thanks for your question! Yes, you will be able to swap out presets for each mode with the Orba companion app. 👍

@@Artiphon So can I change the scale modes in the chord mode? And can I just change it without using app?
@Artiphon3 жыл бұрын
@@ofewchewy121 Hi there, by default, the scale in Lead mode is pentatonic unless you select the diatonic preset. In Chord mode, you can choose between major and minor in the app. 👍

Mine won’t delete track. I have to turn it off and start over. It really sucks when you make a good beat. Also can I turn off the metronome?
@kerrywhite67203 жыл бұрын
Mute metronome: A+7 for 5 or 10 seconds. Make sure Mode you want to delete is chosen. IE: if you started with Drums and 4 layers later want to kill it choose Drums and do the long A+6.

Can I update my Orba without a computer? If I can connect it via Bluetooth, can I just update it that way? I don’t have access to a computer…

I would like to know how long the loop can be. I use sometimes something a bit similar like KORG Kaossilator 2 to generate new ideas and it is a great tool but the loop can be only 8 notes long which makes this tool practically useless for larger projects. So how long the first loop can last?
@Artiphon4 жыл бұрын
Loops can be up to 16 bars!

Hi! Why does tapping on the A button switch parts? I find this super confusing.
@Artiphon4 жыл бұрын
The A button is like Orba's function button. We needed a quick and easy way to switch and select modes without having to play any unwanted notes.
@LousyFacelift4 жыл бұрын
Artiphon Yes, I know it works like a function button but that's exactly the problem. In my opinion it would be a lot more user friendly if switching parts required two presses, A and then the desired part because that would keep me from switching to the next part by accident all the time which throws me off a lot. It's happening all the time, especially before trying to erase a part and it kills all the fun for me, sorry to say.

Hello Mike! We're constantly working to fine tune Orba's firmware and features, including improvements to the looper's functionality. We release firmware updates with some frequency, so be sure to check the settings menu of the desktop app to make sure your Orba's firmware is up to date :).

How do you erase a loop? The play/pause keeps flashing.
@Artiphon4 жыл бұрын
Hey P, you can erase your loop by holding down the center A pad and shaking it like an etch a sketch. If you want to clear your whole song, hold the center A pad and REC pad down until the lights cycle orange then red. 👍
