These guitars sound great plugged in and acoustic sound is really good! In my opinion these guitars have THE best acoustic sound and electric sound in one! In other words, way good enough to mic up in the studio and get brilliant sound or use on stage with natural and reliable sound. Love mine...Bravo Maton

sounds great, but it's no ebw808, that one does it for me. There's a lot of beauty in subjectivity, people might want to look into that :)

The 79 and the 80 were brighter. The 77 had a mellower sound.

Whats the correlation between your spoken numbers, 77 79 80, & the serial numbers printed in the description?

Jesse spoke the end of the serial numbers, however the ID# is what you'll search on the website to find the specific guitar. It's just usually simpler to have a smaller number (ID#) to quickly find a guitar on the site rather than a longer SN. Thanks for asking!

great guitars, I have 2 of them. Interestingly enough, my standard TE is just as good as my Custom shop TE Personal, and half the price.

I had the opposite experience. My TE Personal was light years ahead of my standard. Sold the standard which was great but just not in the same league. Also, my standard was a 2008 which had different bracing than the newer standards so that could have been the difference.

@@DannyBrooks1 We agree, the difference is very perceptive for the discerning listener. In our experience, there is no question that Andy Allen (Maton Custom Shop Master Luthier) creates an instrument respective of a handcrafted guitar, individually hand voiced. For the right player, it makes an enormous difference.

Tough choice! An OM-28 will give you more low end while the Maton TE will have more mid-range presence. If you like to plug your acoustic into an amp, the Maton EBG808 TE AP5 Pro pickup will beat any pickup you can put into an OM-28.

We've converted a lot of people from big name brands to Maton, but we understand that those companies have a long history and have a special place in the music community for a good reason. Always have to get what is right for you. You seem to have a good grasp on what you're looking for.
