This is pretty informative, that music gets old fast. It so awesome to see so many people take pride in their jobs.

excellent video, really enjoyed that you guys , I can appreciate where the cost of a quality instrument comes in here . Detail is second to none , and using a thumb scrape takes me back to my cabinet making apprentice days . nice to see that tool being used to get a perfect finish . I shall keep saving my pennies for a Maton acoustic guitar , they are certainly amongst the best available anywhere on the globe . One of my heroes Colin Hay of Men At Work plays Maton guitars . keep up the great work , and thanks again for a very well produced video

Beautiful work is being done in Maton guitar shop. Too bad these fine guitars are hard to come by in north America.

Interesting to see the braces shaped then glued. Most others glue then shape the braces. Would be nice to change up the music in each of the segments to showcase the different guitars offered.

Insane detail, care and passion going into these hand made guitars. Maton are making Martin and Taylor look average these days. You can legit get a hand made guitar, with love and care from Maton for the same price as the OVER priced, Mexican, factory made guitars by Martin and Taylor. No offence to Mexico it's just these BS American companies sell their astronomically priced guitars from the 'American factory' but use cheap labour and parts, get them made in Mexico on the cheap, then sell them for shit loads just because they print 'Martin' or 'Taylor' on them. Maton doing it the right way. If you see a Maton.....then get one!

Really interesting, however the same background music throughout the presentation does get a little monotonous Rob

Yeah for a company that makes Guitars pretty sad, bit of Blues and Rock would have spiced it Up. Cheers

Why they are not using gloves when handling woods Notice they keep their woods in a factory whereas Yamaha Indonesia keeps their woods outside exposed to the rain

What a delightful video. Very informative and so wonderful to see where my new guitar has come from (I ordered an S808 today and waiting for the courier to come). However, one thing I was quite mortified over was that there appears to be no stage where somebody 'tones' each individual sound-board. When a Luthier makes a guitar (because every piece of wood is different), he taps and scrapes endlessly, until he get the correct tone in the sound board. This is an extremely important stage. However, looks like at Maton, each sound board is just buzzed over with a CNC router - and that's it. Oh man - I'm horrified! I'm not so optimistic now as I await my new guitar!!

Many Australian timbers have very misleading names. Oaks that aren't actually oaks, maples that aren't actually maples, pines that aren't pines and so on. And don't get me started on what timber merchants try to label as mahogany and rosewood.

A bit more modern than the 2014 video on Maton production. They are still about 10 years behind modern practice..whether that is good or not. They play well enough but are dramatically overpriced compared to Godin, Taylor or even to a Martin after importing to the USA. I think Blackwood is a very nice wood. Doesn't sound like Rosewood though.
