Australian Blackwood is also known by it's scientific name "Acacia Melanoxylon" - native to Australia but closely related to Hawaiian Koa, which you might know to be the traditional timber for making Ukulele. Anatomically identical, it is only under a microscope that subtle differences can be recognised.

I have the Maton EBW70C in lefty. Got it last year from Artisan Guitars. It has become my go-to acoustic. Among my 6-string acoustics, I have five Martins and one Gibson, and my Maton is my FAVORITE acoustic along with my Martin D-41. And yes, when you change your strings with the Matons, change them ONE AT A TIME because of the electronics.

Je pense que les guitaristes qui joue avec un plectre ne savent pas exprimer des émotions arrêtées par ce petits bouts de plastic...comme si on caressait son bébé avec des mains dans des gants en caoutchouc..avez vous déjà senti votre cœur avec des gants en cuir..comme si votre médecin vous palpait le ventre avec des gants...regardez les super guitaristes comme mark knopfler,clapton, paco de lucia,les guitaristes classiques ou les joueurs de luth...super guitariste je joue avec la pulpe des doigts et des ongles...je sens ma guitare comme je sens ma femme quand je caresse son cou,son ventre...fait on l amour avec des gants..à la guitare avec un plectre le son est métallique,sans timbre..le bois reçoit une clac...je joue depuis60 ans..j ai 7 guitares...elles adorent que je les caresse avec mon cœur...pas avec du plastic...gentiment..Albert from belgium...
