The best interview with a "musical artist" I have ever seen. Kimbra's distinctive and precise explanation of her construction and process of her creating her music is startling almost frightening in the exactness of her knowledge and clarity of purpose. This interview brings to life the science behind the passions expressed in Kimbra's vocals and music. Amazing...thank you!

This is the first interview I watched with her, and I agree. I love the way her mind works and how she articulates her thoughts, not just regarding word choice but also intonation, pauses/timing, facial expressions etc. I relate to what she said in this interview 100%.

I was deployed overseas when "Somebody that I used to know" came out, so I missed about a year's worth of new music. I literally found Kimbra this week and have been fascinated. I guess I fall into the realm of the "prog rock dad". I started listening to music in the 80s and Genesis' "Invisible Touch" and Peter Gabriel's "So" were two of my first albums. I am blown away by her ability to articulate exactly what she wants to convey, not only in her music, but in an interview. It's like watching someone with the passion of a young artist, but the poise of a music professor. She came across as a complete professional. Oh yeah, and she has a great voice!

21:47 Which art exhibition in Mexico is she talking about? I *really* want to know! Because this is such a powerful quote: *"When you deconstruct art and you put it back together in a new format, it gains a new meaning in the reassembling of the abstract parts."*

16:48 A tip for anyone going through this…redirect…begin to pray for that person every time you think of them and pray for your feelings and emotions. Give it all to God. Trust me, the intention of all of these thoughts and emotions is to distract and destruct you but when you turn your heart towards God, this is Gods heart for you and the other person during this challenging time ❤

If she's into Pokemon too... Mew and Volbeat maybe? maybe there's another Pokemon that's also a band. More on topic, indeed it's hard not to smile hard when a great artist mentions another favorite. But I wouldn't go that far, so quickly... maybe if we agreed on at least 10+ others I'd gladly volunteer 🤭 Fun (ridiculous) fact, last night I read a comment by someone who basically dissed her current looks ...I mean, oookaaaay. But I get the feeling these ppl are usually the kind of ppl who make it their profession to hate on the likes of Taylor Swift etc (not that such great minds don't underestimate male artists or whole bands but the belittlement of some women is even stronger, and different). Guess these were off topic too, I'mma cut it right here now... Oh, right, almost forgot... obviously(?) I was curious about which songs (or albums) you'd suggest by Mew... I only know a couple of them, the first being Comforting Sounds of course (thanks to that Birdy album). I should probably start listening to full albums again or check out some list of tracks and spot an interesting song title and go from there but I'm afraid I'll need a less time-consuming method for the time being. So much to (re-)discover and many cool artists to give more attention to. Took a long break from that activity and only now am I getting used to it again. I still can't pick just 1-2 artists to "study" though, KZbin keeps tempting me to check out countless songs etc. So I'd appreciate a recommendation :D cheers

Her accent is morphing into american more and more. Kinda sad to think a human that is all about their voice, starts losing "their voice". It's almost like soul corruption.

Women and minorities? Producing music isnt something you decide to do Kimbra, you know that. Its an intimate calling no matter what gender or race you are. Go on and force diversity and you will destroy music. You cant learn to produce music like its a job. Its a love with benifits...sometimes lucrative benefits.
