Mamamoo are fantastic live performers with strong stage presence and interactions with fans. You should see them perform at least once in your life. They are currently on a world tour, with dates in the United States. Seeing them perform in person is a life-changing experience. Many people will attest to this.

MAMAMOO AND TLC YEEEEESSS!!! I'm putting it out in the universe that Mamamoo covers a TLC song, ANY TLC song! Knowing Mamamoo they'd cover TLCs cover of "If I was your girlfriend" cause they like to keep it fruity like that 😉 - y'all have gotta see their stage performances for *Um Oh Ah Yeah* (actually y'all should watch *Um Oh Ah Yeah*, because Mamamoo in DRAG??) - but the performances show off their creativity with ad libs and that effortless raising of the bar for gender expression. They've just been those girls since early days! Anyway it's my first time here and I LOVE you guys! I relate to everything y'all shared about the magic and beauty of androgyny so 🎉🎉

The pronunciation in the guide must not have been very good if Kaye thought the W in Wheein is silent. In Korean Wheein and Hwasa's names start with the same Wh sound but with a bit more breathy H at the beginning than we usually use in English. I'm not sure why they're romanized differently but romanization is just an unofficial approximation of Korean pronunciation and in one early Mamamoo MV Hwasa is spelled Whasa. English speakers pronounce Wheein as We + In and Hwasa like the first two syllables of wasabi but with a touch of that H breathiness going into the W in both cases. Purple Hawke's guide stopped at 2020 because that's when it was made. The more recent guide by Moo YT is roughly based on Purple Hawke's format (Moo YT gives a shout out to Purple Hawke) and will bring you more up to date. MMM concerts are legendary. Any moomoo will tell you they're better live than on record and I think they're a live group first and foremost. I can only judge by the live vids I've seen but imo MMM takes their talent to the next level when the girls are fueled by an audience full of moomoos. As you can imagine their stage presence is riveting and they absolutely own every audience they perform for. They have an old school entertainer performance philosophy that's quite different from most kpop groups. They treat the stage as their playground and the audience as their play date for the day. They prioritize delivering excellent, always live vocals and interacting with the audience, and they often leave space in the song & choreo for ad libs, improvised moments, pranks and other hijinks rather than kpop's usual focus on delivering perfectly synchronized knife-like choreo. They often re-arrange or remix their hits for concerts and award shows, sometimes in completely different genres, and you never know what they're going to do next.

@@yallhearingthis I'm in the same name butchered boat. Wheein is unlikely to be offended so try not to stress about it too much - we all know who you mean. I found it helpful to semi-learn hangul, the Korean alphabet, which is much more logical than the one we use and was designed to be easy to learn. :)

highly recommend this other guide " introduction mamamoo by MOO YT 2022 ...please do Part#2 GROUP as it takes you from debut to 2022 in their music and journey a bit (not pt.1 as you guys already did the members intro with hawke)

Thank you for all your mamamoo reaction! I’m really happy you guys are enjoying them! Since you like Moonbyul would love for you to react to some of her solo content so you can see her sing! She has great vocals in her song Shutdown (which is also an openly sapphic song that she wrote herself, if you watch please pay attention to the lyrics). All the members have amazing solo work that I’m sure you’ll enjoy diving into if you get chance! :)

They have so much solo work that it’s hard to know where to start so I’ve put some recommendations for each member to make it seem less daunting: Solar: Spit it out and Honey Moonbyul: Eclipse, Shutdown and G999 Wheein: Water color, Goodbye and Make me happy Hwasa: Maria and I’m a B (these two songs are kind of linked) But I really struggled to narrow it down because they all have so many amazing songs! And this is just my personal opinion, everyone will have their own preferences of course! Hope you enjoy more Mamamoo!
